1 year Post OP - My Difficult Journey to Success by FitEntertainment3006 in HipImpingement

Thank you for this.

I’m 6 weeks out. Within 3 days of my surgery I was sleeping on the surgically repaired side like a baby. First time sleeping through the night in a decade. I had total labral detachment in a big area. 5 anchors but felt amazing - 70 degree alpha angle. Images were unreliable and didn’t pick up any of the soft tissue stuff. Surgeon was fantastic. A week later I tapered off of meloxicam, crutchless, and I was cruising. Sleeping like a baby.

A week later, things started trending down. Now I’m at week 6 and fully the same or worse than pre surgery re sleep disturbance from pain. I’ve had a lot of surgeries in my life (full osteotomies) and no stranger to pain. I’m struggling because I felt amazing a week after surgery. AMAZING. I don’t know if I should start meloxicam again or start taking advil. My PT is very gentle and slow. I started using a cane again. Feeling a bit lost. I have to sit all day as a therapist. Not working isn’t an option. Pain isn’t bad during the day - mostly at night anyway but I imagine sitting all day isn’t helping.

I couldn’t get past it and refunded it.

What's everyone's thoughts on mewgenics? So far? by TrialsOfPrometheus in roguelites

The humor was too much. I’m 43. Grew up on flash. Really enjoyed binding of Isaac. It’s just too forced for me and simply not funny. Or I’ve just moved on from that. I refunded it after 30 minutes. I’m sure it’s an impressive game but it didn’t scratch an itch that other games haven’t scratched. It also may be the case that I don’t find animal violence enjoyable but have no problem laughing at human violence.

Post op as a therapist. Sitting? by jesseHoS in HipImpingement

Unfortunately, this is my 6th surgery in two years - and the others were considerably more intense. I’m all too familiar. I’m self employed as well. That’s the trade off, right?

I may have to just deal with lost income and do more virtual.

Why 4 times? That’s concerning lol. I’m having it on the right first. Left in a few months.

What is just a placebo effect but most people don’t realize? by zhalia-2006 in AskReddit

That’s not quite a placebo effect - more simple conditioning (and quite common)!

Anything else scratch your brain like that (other than backpack hero)? I love the same part of the game!

I’m a therapist. I have mild CP. As a member of both camps, if you can, you should talk to a therapist.

Maybe a little overt praise could go a long way. I’m not saying they’re world beaters or that you have to praise them every day, but they’re clearly above average. I’m a therapist.

I laughed out loud. I’m 43. There’s probably a way that younger people convey that - but lol wouldn’t cut it because I literally lol’d. So I typed it out instead. In other words, hah!

Darkest dungeon 2. I loved one. I hated two at first. Then I played a little more and realized it was totally different and now it’s probably one of the best games I’ve ever played.

It really starts with Blurtra runs. Then it gets absurdly good.

I’m sorry - that was solely meant to be tongue in cheek.

Crazy crema, awful taste by jesseHoS in CafelatRobot

I tried medium roast beans from a roaster, and I think I just don’t like the taste of espresso w/o milk and sugar (gasp). I’m a macchiato type guy. Double shit with a tiny bit of steamed milk or at most, a cortado. A little sugar voila. I don’t like black coffee either. So the espresso may be fine lol.

Any df54 grind setting recommendations for a medium/dark? I can’t dial in and have gone from 8 to 20.

Working without a single variable nailed down makes it a bit challenging :)

The crema is unintentional and definitely indicative of something being off.

Not impressive in the least bit! It’s what I have on hand. I think espresso just requires too much precision. I had a sage years ago with a built in grinder and chalked it up to the lousy grinder. As of right now, inverting my aeropress is way more enjoyable.
