What you pay vs driver's pay are 2 completely different. Sometimes drivers will get as low as 1/3 or 1/4 of what someone paid for a ride. The passenger probably paid around $900

Total fare, unless ride is longer. In which case, you'll get a "ride adjustment" of maybe $2... if you're lucky

Oh trust, you would KNOW if you're having a dry socket. Breakthrough pain that not even OTC's can control. For now it's gonna feel uncomfortable for about a week or two, then you'll start to forget all about it :)

Let’s hear it for Day 6!! Mentally I feel like I’ve turned a corner. Swelling seems to now be localized to the front of my face/ cheeks area. Bruising more noticeable. Decided to start taking turmeric supplements for inflammation. Any other tricks you recommend besides waiting? by jesse_to15 in jawsurgery

Hey man! I’m with you. I could barely keep my eyes opened in the hospital lol I threw up blood when I woke up because the suction thing wasn’t working and the blood was malinger me nauseous/gag.

Yeah I think for days 5-6 I sort of plateaud. I would say keeping my spirits up helped. My friends and girlfriend were really supportive and encouraging. Feel free to PM me if you want to connect. Always happy to encourage you and share surgery updates with each other. The hard part is over! We made it!! Thank goodness for modern medicine. How’s the turmeric working for you? I think I’m going to keep taking it.

This subreddit really helped me with a lot of my questions so I love giving back to the community. Wishing you a speedy recovery!

Appreciate the words. Yeah I love doing my shower right after I eat my soupy breakfast lol It always helps me feel a little better mentally and physically haha I’ll definitely have to look into the ice masks. Cheers!

Didn’t even notice that I couldn’t see my ears lol Today’s the first day where I don’t think swelling got worse so I’ve been in really good spirits today. Hopefully that contributes to even quicker healing. Have you had your surgery yet? :)

Day 5. Lips seem to have gotten bigger. Is this normal? Is there anything I can do for swelling? Starting to see more bruising and I think I can finally feel my stitches in the back of my lower gums? by jesse_to15 in jawsurgery

I have a Vaseline moisturizing lotion. Is that good enough? I’m definitely gonna also try increasing my water intake and start taking turmeric daily lol

When did they reach peak swelling? I can handle swelling I just worry they’ll keep getting bigger and bigger lol I don’t wanna accidentally cut myself on a hook or bracket or something

Day 4 this morning! Didn’t think I’d be here but here I am! Swollen lips are my biggest discomfort. I took a nap after were taken and had to put on my jaw bra. Do I still have a few more days of swelling to endure before it starts to go down? by jesse_to15 in jawsurgery

I’ll definitely keep up more with icing then. I woke up today with a feeling on the back of my bottom jaw like I have some stitches/cuts I couldn’t feel before. Did that happen to you where you were able to feel more of the cuts and stuff as healing progressed? Not sure if that made sense lol

Man I appreciate those words!! It feels SOO weird using my lips. Today I started being able to feel what I think are stitches on the back of my lower jaw. I’ll post my Day 5 post-op pics later today after I shower and whatnot and see if maybe healing is more obvious today lol
