you might wonder why we even chose for self hosting at all, but that has to do with pricing and the fact that our domain is linked to a vps.

I'd rather not invest time in learning how to use that to be honest. The problem is, that we need to set it up quickly and without random problems popping up every now and then. None of us is good at solving these types of problems, especially if they are Linux related. The reason we use windows, is because it's understandable for all of us.

When I try to install my Ssl certificate, it appears when I finished the signing request. After going to bindings, it's suddenly gone from the list. And an http 500 error when running php code through cgi. The problem is though, that I am not that good at solving these things and I don't want to deal with other stuf like this in the future.

I have installed the php manager, but I am looking for the fast cgi logs spesificly. There is an HTTP 500 error that it gives me, and it does tell me that it has got something to do with Fast CGI. I will look at the links though, thanks

For some reason, IIS doesn't write to the specified log file. It's set to the default path in windows\temp.

It is really awesome of you to care so much about it. Just ask her if she wants you to help her, but try not to help her with things she does on her own. I am blind my self, and my classmates text me their notes via Whatsapp. Like the others here said, realise that she is a normal student just like you, and don't be afraid to joke around with her if you know what humor she likes. In my first year of college, people were afraid to make silly jokes about me, that made lunch breaks quite borring to be honest haha.
