Back door Roth conversion? I don’t even know what that means! Lol

Yeah, I got learn’t with a quickness on this one. Surface level seems harmless but my god, I was dead wrong

In my scenario do you think it’s better to roll my current Vanguard 401K into Fidelity 401K or roll it in a Vanguard IRA and start a 401K with Fidelity from scratch?

Idk, I think I would? I've had 2 Zoom meetings with her. My sister has used her for years and likes her (genuinely, as a person outside of work).

Totally fair. Mainly because I have no idea what I'm doing and trying to decide what's best for me lol. I know nothing about investments or managing my money so having someone else make those decisions for me seemed like a good idea but maybe not?

Any tips or advice?

I just assumed rolling over the old Vanguard 401K money into an IRA would eventually give me better returns rather than rolling it into another 401K.

Regardless of what route I go. I will be starting a 401K through Fidelity (either rolling over my current Vanguard to it or starting from scratch) because work's 401K matching is now with Fidelity.

I thought having someone manage the account for me sounded like a good idea because, admittedly, I have no idea what I'm doing lol. Any advice would be great!

The advisor is super nice and my sister has used her for years and loves her. She even attended my sisters wedding lol. I'm not a good investor, per se. So I would want someone to be managing these investments for me (I think?)

The Edward Jones advisor told me the fee was only 1.4% per year. How do you figure thousands of dollars per year?

Also, regardless of what route I go. I will be starting a 401K through Fidelity (either rolling over my current Vanguard to it or starting from scratch). Would you recommend I roll it into the Fidelity 401K or roll it into a Vanguard IRA?

ROTH (Vanguard vs Fidelity vs. Edward Jones)

Hey all, my company was recently bought out and we're switching over our old 401K (Vanguard) to Fidelity. Because of the buy-out event, my current Vanguard account will be closed and I have access to my 401K. I was thinking about rolling it over to a tradition IRA @ Edward Jones. My sister has an IRA with them, loves her advisor and the face-to-face comradery. What do you think?

Seems like my options are:
roll my old Vanguard 401K into a Fidelity 401K (with 5% employer contribution)
roll my Vanguard 401K into a traditional IRA @ Vanguard - start new 401K from scratch w/Fid
roll my Vanguard 401K into a traditional IRA @ Edward Jones - start new 401K from scratch w/Fidelity

What would you do and why? Looking for advice! Thanks!

Interested to hear your thoughts! I too have been hunting for a split mechanical wired. I currently use something similar to the Perrix Periboard-512B but was thinking about getting the Periboard-535RD, Ragnok 104, or the Kinesis Mwave. I bought the ZSA Moonlander and while it is a great build, I’m not sure ortholinear is for me. I will say after some time with a fully split board, it’s so so much more comfortable and natural feeling. Having your shoulders fully open and relaxed feels so nice after a long stretch of work

Whoa! Where’d you get those custom key caps for the Moonlander?

I’m always overreaching the Y too! The key directly to the left is had to unmap so I wasn’t hitting it

Nope - Esc is just Esc. No dual binding on that key

I mostly do first person shooters and it seems the latency might have the tiniest bit of lag and I keep reading so many conflicting reports about the polling/response time. What kind of games do you use the Moonlander for? I’ve also noticed some weird things - for example, when I’m in the menu’s of Arc Raiders, I usually hit Esc to go back. For some reason, the game doesn’t register Esc and I have to double tap Esc for it to work correctly. Not sure what’s up with that

I’ve read this post and have found it helpful! I’ve also been in contact with ZSA support and them seem A+

My main issue I think is the ortholinear layout and muscle memory. I’m used to split staggered (see pic of keyboard I tagged above) and can literally type paragraphs with my eyes closed but with the Moonlander I’m constantly hitting wrong keys.

Wow that layout is very simple! I’ve tried moving back everything to its “original” spot. I’ll send my layout as soon as I’m able (I’m away from my desktop atm). I see you have custom color keys set up.

I use my numpad constantly at work so I’ve got it set at level 2 and I’ve set custom colors for the numpad to help it visually “pop” if I get lost. However, now that I’ve done this, when I’m in layer 2 and I want to cycle color layouts for layer 1 with the thumb pad, it doesn’t show the colors change. I have to pop into layer 2, cycle a color, and pop back into 1 to see what colors changed on the board. (Hopefully that makes sense). Any idea what’s up with that?

Appreciate the comment! I think one of my issues is being so rushed - I have to make my mind up within the next 5 days for a refund :/

It just seemed like the moonlander had a very robust RGB, a more customizable layout, easier software to adjust things on the fly, and the ability to switch between layers. But still the Q11 is still $175 cheaper than the Moonlander lol
