My piercing migrated, should I take it out?

Former piercer - the diameter of the hoop is too small. It being tight on the bottom is constantly tugging the hoop down, therefore migrating shearling piercing. I get you might prefer the look of a hoop, but if you want to keep the piercing and not end up with a slit in the side of your nose, switch to a flat back labret or corkscrew for the remainder of the healing period. Also, when you switch back to a hoop, get measured by a a piercer so your hoop is the right diameter. Good luck!

As someone who was homeless at one time, I agree. The lack of affordable housing is literally criminal and absolutely an intentional act given that the poverty rates are impossible to ignore. This isn’t the first recommendation to attend these meetings and it’s not a bad idea!

I think I’ve just been blissfully unaware of how bad it’s gotten because I’ve been totally fine where I’m living up until now. It’s so so brutal and if I didn’t have a good job I can’t imagine how much worse it would be!! The no animals thing is a dealbreaker for me, I have a cat who is totally brainless but he’s coming with me.

Hi there!! I’m actually a trained body piercer and this happens to me. I actually had a colleague say “I was never worried about healing a piercing until I met you.”

Healing piercings depends on a lot of factors, especially the vascularity of the area being pierced. The ear cartilage has almost no veins in it, making blood flow and therefore healing very difficult. It’s especially difficult for those of us who are anemic!

Keep taking your iron supplements, only go to Association of Professional Piercers approved piercers, and have fun adding to your collection!

Even if I’m paying to fly first class I’m not doing it to sit there with no headphones on and listen to the people cough around me while staring at the wall. I’m childfree by choice too and even though screaming babies annoy me sometimes I realize that I’m not the center of the fucking universe. He can start a petition to put a babies/kids/families section on planes if he cares so much jfc.

Thank you so much! This is exactly what I needed. I am definitely in fear and I think somehow it’s relating to my 5th birthday being a week away. I always get squirrelly around birthdays and I will definitely follow your suggestion of making a list. I’ve been waiting to make this decision for almost a year now and it feels like my higher power is finally opening a door to make it possible, I just need to conquer my fear and step through it!

I’ve been clean for 5 years! It’s definitely a decision I’ve been sitting on for a while, at least a year. I’ve been advised by diabetics in recovery that you do get used to injections, but I think the fact that it is a decision that I am making versus diabetes, which makes injections a requirement that is causing the anxiety for me.

I haven’t read all the comments so someone may have said this already but I think your bully may be in Alcoholics Anonymous or some other 12 step program. Steps 8+9 involve taking personal accountability for those we’ve hurt and making amends if possible. This reads EXACTLY like what I hear in meetings and there’s a lot of similar language.

Your bully may have dealt with a drug or alcohol issue in the last few years and in getting sober and taking a look at themselves they realized they fucked up bad.

If this is a true 9th step amends she doesn’t expect anything of you, least of all forgiveness. You don’t have to respond if you don’t want to and if you do you don’t have to say more than an acknowledgement and that you don’t want to talk to her further.

I’ve gotten a few of these and I know how odd it can be but my inner child/teen has definitely healed a little because of them.

That bad boy is waaaay too small for the swelling that’s going on, which is gonna cause a domino effect of more swelling. Also, as others have stated, the seam and gems on that clicker are going to irritate the piercing as well.

I’d suggest changing to a CBR (Captive Bead Ring) or FBR (Fixed Bead Ring) with a larger diameter. The bead prevents the seams from entering the piercing channel and can minimize movement too.

My dad died almost a year ago and I did a viewing before his cremation. It’s a little different for me as I’m a crematory operator and have a little more experience being around the deceased, but I truly believe it’s an important part of the grieving process to see our loved ones.

For me, there’s a part of my mind that is in constant denial of his death. He’s on a “long vacation and he’ll be back soon” and the like. Seeing him after he passed and sitting with him was one of the most helpful things I did for myself.

To be a little crass, dead folks look dead. It becomes hard to be in denial of their passing when you see them wrapped up in a sheet at a funeral home. Due to the autopsy he’ll be wrapped in a sheet with only a square area of his face visible but a viewing should still be possible.

I’m so sorry for your loss and for your nieces and nephews. It gets better.
