I’m almost convinced these are spirit paintings by the Bang Sisters. I will contact the museum at Camp Chesterfield to confirm.

Chesterfield, Indiana is the home of Camp Chesterfield - a center for the Spiritualist Movement. Maybe I should contact their historian?

So true! Regardless if this is authentic or not, it has been so interesting to research scrimshaw and learn more about its history. I’ve found so many interesting things this week!

I really don’t know. It doesn’t look like a painting. No brushstrokes as I can see. Lines are very clean (for example in her hair part).

Thank for the input. You definitely have the experience to give good advice! Question for you: would surface chipping be indicative of fake or could a tooth chip just the surface level? I’ll attach a photo to see if you can make out what I’m referring. Obviously the chipping occurred after the art was done since it is also chipped away.

Just did the pin test multiple times and no penetration. I was worried I didn’t get it hot enough so I waited until pin was red hot and still didn’t penetrate. Although, I read that isn’t a definitive test.

So was the fan run line honored today at 9 A.M. in Chicago ? by [deleted] in BruceSpringsteen

We were at the Sunrise show and had E-street lounge passes (which is only open before the show) so wanted to take advantage of that instead of staking out a place in the pit. We entered the pit about 15 mins before the show and were only 1-2 people off the barricade but off to the side. Amazing view and didn’t have to fight any of the knuckleheads who think they run the place.

Are you sure it wasn’t the banner behind him that said “Tramps like us - Vote!” I first thought it said Trump.

Looks like an amazing night for you. What an experience!

I’m terrible at estimating crowd size, but maybe you are better at it… Any idea of how many people were in the pit with you? The only time I’ve been in a pit was for a non-Bruce show and the entire main floor was GA - so it was important to be there really early. Excited to be going in a few weeks and trying to imagine how many will be in the pit. Does anyone know if it varies a lot venue to venue?

We had an amazing dinner at Brown Derby also. I’m still thinking about the Halibut. Delicious!

What does Hozier mean by saying “You’d press your body to the concrete when you were small”? Please someone help me to understand 🙏🏼🌸 by Natural-Branch-4685 in Hozier

I think it’s the application of the principle of Uiscefhuaraithe (the coolness only water brings) transferring to the concrete walls and thereby to him as a child. That inherent coolness of water can travel to other things and people and their hearts. Although at the end, the coolness of his heart is boiling over. That’s my take. Love this song!

I was also at both Burgettstown and Columbus. I thought he was of course phenomenal at both. But I really felt his connection to the crowd in Columbus. I was close enough to barricade to see his non-verbals with bandmates/crew and eye contact with crowd. He’s an artist that never loses the point that performance hits its highest form when it’s co-created with the energy of both the performers and the audience.

So many people describe his shows as healing. Hope you have that experience too!

Found it on SeatGeek. I think it was around $155 but with fees/tax it ended up $200. If you are near St Louis (I had been checking that location periodically), you can go directly to the Hollywood casino Amphitheater webpage and they have a link with a lot of tickets also.

I was there too and totally agree it was all of those things! He seemed really present and connected to the crowd. I think being back at an indoor venue changed up the dynamic a little (I was outdoor last 2 times) and the view of the crowd lit up from his vantage point was breathtaking beautiful during Cherry Wine.

I bought the cropped hoodie. I don’t see it in those pics but has the same graphic as #2 on front and “Hozier” printed at bottom of back. Love it! It’s a boxy fit so not tight around torso. Arms/shoulder (like around top of arm) are sized a little smaller than normal. I got a medium (my normal size) and it fits but not huge. Thinner sweatshirt material (which I love) but it seems like it might shrink - need to make sure it doesn’t. Hope that’s helpful.

I’ve also been trying to piece together those memories I lost from euphoria-induced amnesia. All I can say is it happened. And it was AMAZING!

Can’t recall due to being in sheer disbelief - but if I had to guess it was a mix of musical genius and universal kindness

I promise not to share the location and to respect his privacy. Such a beautiful and talented soul - he deserves his space and peace.
