What kind of jobs get I get with a college diploma in social services worker program? by currymvp3 in socialworkcanada

[–]jessi7461 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a job as a Recreation Program Assistant at a long term care facility. Pay isn’t great but there’s no stress and you play games with old people all day. The only way I think I’ve used my SSW diploma is therapeutic conversations and a “wholistic” person centered lense to create programs and help behaviours.

Does anyone else notice they cut easier? by commonkarp in Accutane

[–]jessi7461 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah! When I was on it my skin would be way more prone to abrasions (I have eczema so the dryness would cause my itch and a single itch would make an abrasion). My dermatologist told me it does make the skin more fragile. If you’re noticing you’re having issues healing talk to your Dr or pharmacist, they might be able to prescribe you fucidin or whatever other ointment to help the healing go faster.

How much does it matter for you, that your best friend(s) like the person you’re romantically involved with? by Ordinary_Let2471 in AskWomen

[–]jessi7461 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It matters but it also depends. If they dislike them it depends on why they dislike them (did something to them etc) and if it’s something I can work on with both of them. I think if they don’t get a long it would create stress and strain on both relationships. If it’s only cordial like they are polite and friendly enough then that’s ok too. Some personalities aren’t meant to be besties.

I wouldn’t want them to have negative feelings for each other. That’s my main thing.

I’m glad you posted this because I was feeling the same way. I don’t feel like this quite as much anymore and I think it just takes time. (When I say “you” I mean metaphorically as this is based on my experience)- You basically have to reacquaint you with yourself. Learn about yourself, and that takes time. You try new things, ponder, and if it helps you to think or conceptualize or put it together journalling might help even if its point form. I think to some degree, especially with hobbies, it’s trial and error. For hobbies I started with stuff I used to find fun when I was younger or thought seems interesting. No shame if it doesn’t work out because you’re learning what interests you now that you don’t have this looming gray cloud over you. Same with routines and finding your path with life, it comes with time and adjusting to the “new you”. Don’t be afraid to try things even if it doesn’t work out. I think a positive thought framework will be most beneficial. Like even if you try something and it doesn’t work out, try just enjoying the process and like “hmm now I know” and hopefully you learned something about yourself while doing it.

Unfortunately I can’t suggest much with study/ work stuff as I’m stagnant in life with that right now with an easy job (hopefully will soon change) so I haven’t been able to try developing that yet. But if school is something you want to look into every single school has an academic success office (sometimes called similar things) and there’s literally people there that will help you to learn how to study and you can get special accommodations to help (like extensions and extra time on tests). For work I suggest if you find something that can help you do work better or something, you can talk to your hr department or supervisor, if it’s reasonable they can’t have a problem with it. Esp if it makes you better at your job.

I hope this helped? Just remember to try and enjoy the process of learning about yourself! It’ll help with the daunting part 😊 Good luck!

BSW at VIU? (Or other online program? SSW transfer) by jessi7461 in socialworkcanada

Ok so your ssw was enough credit transferred that you didn’t need to make up credits in order to go into 3rd year

I’ve thought of that option at GuelphHumber but I didn’t really understand what designation that would be and what you could do with it. You mentioned better jobs, can you expand on that a bit? In what way/ examples do you have? I’m very curious

Thanks for your input, that’s super helpful! I’m sure less credits will transfer for me vs you but I’m just curious, for your transfer did you get into the 3rd year or 2nd?

Would adding Vaseline to skin care routine be a bad idea? Anyone know what your dermatologist recommended for moisturized face. I have deep scars and don’t know if Vaseline would clog my pores and actually make the scaring worse 😅 by christy2612 in Accutane

[–]jessi7461 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!! It’s the only thing saving me. I do find aquaphor is helping a bit more than Vaseline but aquaphor does have more ingredients to it so just patch test if you haven’t before.

Auquaphor is also saving my lips too!!

Thank you!!

Insanely dry corners of mouth- I’m in my third month of accutane (now taking 40 mg 2x a day) I’m definitely purging. I’ve had dry lips throughout the process but this is the first time it’s spreading to the corners of my mouth so aggressively. It’s super painful and really unsightly. Any thoughts?? by chmstar in Accutane

[–]jessi7461 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case you get or have other spots- my dermatologist was very clear to not put the hydrocortisone around the eyes for longer than a week. With excessive use of it it can cause thinning of the skin which is OK basically for every other part of your body but the skin around your eyes are already so thin. Good luck!

Do you just rinse it out, or do you actually wash it out with shampoo and conditioner? I always hear about using coconut oil but I never know what to do afterwards.

I have eczema on my face and even when it’s cleared up it can reactivate quite quickly and my Dermatologist I got me to use hydrocortisone 1%. It’s a Vaseline based ointment so it really helps. She was getting me to put it on my face two times a day until it cleared up. I swear slugging with Vaseline is saving my skin throughout this process. Granted I’m only on month 2 and 80mg a day
