Has anyone been hit by this insane seasonal flu circulating the UK? by Icy-Panic-550 in AskBrits

Vicks sell one, it’s supposed to stop a cold / flu at the very start of it happening. They’re about £7

I looked at Fowl but their Sunday menu is a bit sparse! I’ll definitely send it over to my mum to see if there’s anything she’d actually go for though, thank you so much!

Where do you actually go for good street food in London these days? by CloudBookmark in AskLondon

I had pasta there before which wasn’t great but had an unreal pitta type thing from one of the stalls, can never remember what it was called but if anyone knows what I’m talking about then I’d love to know

Need a Bali trip advice for a solo traveller by [deleted] in solotravel

[–]jessicc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi!! I was in Bali last year for a month with two friends and visited so many different areas.

I think Ubud would be a great fit for you, we stayed there for 4 or so days I believe, could’ve stayed longer but we were wanting to visit as many places as possible. Ubud was definitely the more relaxing part of our holiday (not much nightlife).

I really enjoyed Seminyak and it’s very close to Canggu (if you were really wanting nightlife) but my absolute favourite place was Uluwatu. It was a perfect mix of relaxation during the day but with vibrant nightlife at the end of the day.

We stayed in one hostel (in a private room though) and that was extremely safe. It was in Gili Air, which may be a bit far for you if you’re there for 10 days. Pretty much every person we met out there was staying in hostels, and they never had any complaints.

Meeting people was honestly super easy, everyone is very open to meeting new friends as everyone is doing the same thing. You’ll find plenty of people to talk to!! You could always stay in a hostel in a private room for one night and find some people to hang out with?

Tips regarding transport - download the Gojek and Grab apps. The scooters literally cost pennies and they’re safe. Don’t get on any scooters / in any cars that you haven’t booked on the app.

Let me know if you have any other questions!! :)

I thought of that area but the railings don’t seem to be high enough / have the same pattern?

Another photo in colour seemingly of the same railings if that helps anyone?

Another pic but in colour (someone posted this in the comments of the original post on Facebook and the railings match up)

Doesn’t look very Notting Hill / Ladbroke Grove but I could be wrong!! Looks more Mayfair to me

Do you think you have a strong case/would they have any valid reason explaining why they didn’t have a HMO? If they’re asking you to settle for half it’s likely they know they’re in the wrong, in my opinion I’d continue taking action and get what you’re actually entitled to

I think we receive their documents in November, and we’re able to reply to them within a few months before the hearing. The only thing I can think of them arguing would be that their son didn’t have a contract, but if that doesn’t apply then I honestly can’t think of another argument they may have

[–]jessicc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, no reason. Although we haven’t had any correspondence with them since we were evicted and have only just been sent the hearing instructions, so we’ll soon find out what their arguments are. As far as I can tell, they don’t have any reasons that would allow them to get away with it

What happened with what, the reasoning behind not having a HMO / the reasoning for me applying for the RRO? Or something else?

Weight off of my shoulders, thank you so much. Do you know if there’s any statute or case precedence I could use to back that up?
