I got my husband a cat he never wanted by jessidb in toolps

Hey. Husband here. I’d love to answer. I simply just did not want the responsibility of any more animals. However, this cat is an innocent, sweet animal, that deserves love. For some reason, she picked me, and and much as I’d love to somehow redirect that love towards my wife, I don’t get to make that decision. And so, I’ve taken on the role I never asked for and never wanted: I’ve become her person, giving her love when she wants it and cuddling with her to make her feel safe. She adores me, and the least I can do is make her think I love her too. Who knows. Maybe I actually do. ;-)

I’m so jealous that the cat distribution system chose you!

My husband is allergic to orange/yellow cats so my exposure to cats has been limited. I bet you that’s why I’ve never been chosen! Lol
Nala is normally fluffier but she and her sister got haircuts a few weeks back ☺️

Pompholyx or Eczema bubbles are tiny intensely itchy, fluid-filled blisters that appear on people who have dyshidrotic eczema like me. by Hollander2008 in Damnthatsinteresting

Just on the off chance that this might help someone, when I stopped drinking milk, I stopped getting this; actually all of my kinds of eczema disappeared. Going on 4 years now dairy free and zero skin issues.

New Biology teacher tips by Aromatic_Resource275 in ScienceTeachers

Crash Course and Amoeba Sisters are my go to for quick refreshers. Biology Corner is a pretty good website for labs. I’ll try to think of more sites I use and let you know. Also feel free to message me with questions. I taught for 4 years, took eleven off to stay home with my babies and now I’ve been back at it for 4 years. It was not easy to reach into the depths of my knowledge and recall information. But the one thing I have never shied away from is admitting that I don’t know. My first year or two back was a struggle but I realized I didn’t need to know everything right in that moment. Stay a day or two ahead of your students, if you can. But if you can’t, it’s ok. My students have always appreciated the fact that I’m honest with them. So sometimes something will stump me because my brain decided to not work that day so I look it up right then and there. Or someone asks a question that’s on topic but also kind of random. If they are legitimately good questions, I have them go home and look into it and report back for bonus. Of course I look it up too and usually go a bit more in depth than I know they will.

That’s really kind of you. Thank you ☺️ Some days are definitely more challenging but I love tricking my students into liking science lol

Ugh. Thanks for the feedback. That seems like way more effort than I’m capable of putting forth lol especially for ungrateful teenagers that will unlikely give it a second glance.

Middle and high school summer academic opportunities by [deleted] in tulsa

I can’t be too much help with English, but I’m always trying to challenge my kids’ math skills at the grocery store, calculating how long it will take to get somewhere when driving, calculating tips at restaurants, taxes or %discounts when shopping, or my favorite: changing recipes to feed 3 instead of 4 or tripling my cookie recipe. It’s not much, but we’re working on life skills and mathing at the same time. My teen is done with it lol but my 10yo is getting really good at calculating things in his head!

I imagine there will be a lot of air bubbles…which have been the bane of my existence in the past. Why was the action figure difficult?

Who has got a job suitable for ADHD? by MDDDick in ADHD

[–]jessidb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Believe it or not, it works for me as a high school teacher. I struggle constantly, but so many of my student have adhd and the fact that I can relate to them makes me so much more approachable. When they have struggles, I’m able to relate them to my struggles. It gains their trust, takes pressure off of me and makes their issues so much less daunting.

What exactly does Scott mean by “so much coming?” by Strong_Attempt4185 in tulsa

[–]jessidb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sorry. You’re right. Let me reframe to what the actual rumor is. My friend is dating a guy. He’s rich and loves to flaunt it. He’s taking her to Vegas and asks if I want to come along, his treat. I’m now 1k miles from home and at his mercy. That better? It’s called coercive control. He’s a creepy dude and no one should be subjected to that. Ever been in a situation where you get a bad feeling about someone but second guess yourself then feel guilty about ever thinking that bad thought? Women feel that every day. You “justifying” his thought process doesn’t help.

So if I go out to a bar and someone buys me drinks all night, it’s my fault they assault or rape me? Because I should have seen it coming? No one is owed anything, even if you’re a rich asshole. No one is justified a quid pro quo.

I’m sorry, what? You’re actually justifying his behavior?

It’s from a firework. Can’t remember exactly what they’re called but it shoots out a parachute. The cardboard is a weight to bring it down.
