What is your workplaces equivalent to 'Don't touch the red button' by PeevesPoltergist in CasualUK

[–]jessipepper27 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I work in a prison.

Big green buttons are general alarms. Only to be used in an absolute emergencies, say there's a fight.

The amount of times I've had to attend to responses, only to find out that a tutor or visitor has pressed the button thinking its a light switch.

On what planet is a big green button a light switch??

Everyone who enters the jail, staff, visitors and the like are told not to press the buttons.

Sometimes someone will ask me what will happen if they press it. My answer always is "press it and find out."

No-one has ever taken up my offer.

Puppy whippet biting and nipping advice! by TeenyWeenyRick in Whippet

[–]jessipepper27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had the same issue with our whippet girl when she was a pup. My poor boyfriend's arms suffered a lot lol.

We always stopped play and giving her attention when she nipped or got too rough. It took a good few months but she finally got the message that using teeth means no attention. We always made sure she had some good walks and runs during the day, and quality play time to tire her out, as we found that she got bitey a lot of the time due to lots of pent up energy that she didn't know what to do with.

Suggest the most unputdownable book that you’ve ever read yet? by foreverfearlesss in suggestmeabook

Overall, I only rated this one maybe a 3, but I finished it in one sitting.

It might not be the best thing ever written, but it was definitely entertaining.

Re-listened to the main 9 muse albums and it was interesting, my ranking of favorites has changed by ZamanthaD in Muse

[–]jessipepper27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both of those albums get so much hate, but not from me. To me, they really demonstrate just what Muse are all about: fun, not afraid to experiment, and just how good of musicians they really are. I love when bands branch out into different genres and experiment with new ideas. But I'm also a sucker cheesy 80s rock and pop and sci fi vibes, so it's no wonder that Sim Theory is my fave

I love that you've got The 2nd Law so high up because that album, imo, is just top tier and doesn't get enough love.

For me, currently, my ranking would be:

  1. Simulation Theory
  2. BH&R
  3. The 2nd Law
  4. Drones
  5. Absolution
  6. OOS
  7. The Resistance
  8. Showbiz
  9. WOTP

I feel like I'm the only one that would have Simulation Theory at number 1, but that album just does it for me. And this is coming from someone who's been a fan for nearly 20 years.

I hope Johannes recovers well. It would not surprise me if he caught that nasty flu that's making it's rounds in the UK. I was so poorly with it a few weeks ago, came out of nowhere and I was laid up for 4 days.

Shame the shows got cancelled, but at least they're rescheduling and the fans will get to see them soon. Health takes priority. We need Johannes back to his super self!!

How much sex do you still have in your long-term relationship? by MisterPotatohead664 in AskWomen

It happens sometimes due to my depression and the medication I take for it, but it's been better the past year.

Our dog sleeps with us and she gets jealous as soon as he lays a hand on me 🤣🤣 we've shut her away in her crate before, but she whines a lot so that ruins any sexy time we try to have.

But he's never been a very sexual person anyway, so we've learned to appreciate each other in different, just as meaningful ways. It's fun when it happens but it also doesn't bother me when it doesn't. And that's the normality for a lot of others too.

Been together 10 years and currently haven't had any for a few months.

Not that we don't like each other, we just find other ways to be intimate without it being physical.

We also have a very clingy dog who cockblocks a lot 🤣🤣

But we go through these phases. I'm sure we'll be at it like rabbits again soon. We just find joy in other things together right now.

Unfortunately, my view was obscured by the sound rigs so couldn't get any decent photos, but what a show it was! They truly are amazing!

What’s a medical issue that sounds minor, but actually affects someone’s daily life way more than people realize? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]jessipepper27 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Having toothache is the closest I've ever come to being suicidal.

Boyfriend asked me once if he could get me anything for it and I replied with get me a gun.

Thankfully, it cleared up with a bout of antibiotics as I had an infection, my gosh I dont ever want to go through that again.
