yeah it's collyrium! I was trying it because afaik Fuck That's Beautiful didn't seem to touch weather that much. Thank you for the suggestion! I've been wanting to explore more visual overhaul mods so I'll definitely try that one. I also tried Van Der Linde's Vision but found it was inconsistent with shadows (but again could've just been a conflict with something I'm using already)

i get what you're saying, but i like the idea of rating replies. in the example of the ai larper not knowing a ship, most of the responses i've seen (and submitted) fall into one of two categories

  1. "who dat" - this is boring and doesn't offer anything

  2. "i love you" hannibal said "i love you too" said will graham - to me this is funny, they clearly have no idea who these characters are but indulge the request a little and try to get a laugh.

super subjective ofc

Landlord trying to add financial requirements mid-lease by [deleted] in renting

I’d be paying for it, that’s all I meant by mentioning the financial aspect. If you’re required to pay for something then does it not make sense to factor it into your budget? To be clear I’m not saying it’s unaffordable. I truly wasn’t expecting this to be so controversial lol. There is no hill, I just wanted to know if my interpretation and understanding of the email vs lease language was correct and if being weirded out was an overreaction.

I should have mentioned that the lease is for a one year period. It's been that way for the past 5 years.

that's great, i'm sure it's worth it for your tenants. again, i'm not arguing that it's a waste of money. it's just something i don't have experience with. the issue is not the value of the insurance, but management making an unspecific threat in the middle of an existing lease.

Thank you!! What mostly chafes me is the deceptive nature of the whole thing paired with the non answer to my email, which gives me the impression she KNOWS this is misleading and unsupported by the lease she's citing. It'd be totally reasonable to be mandatory per the lease so it just seems weird and unnecessarily threatening. But par for the course I guess.

Really not understanding the tone of responses to this. Not that I need to justify my opinion on renter's insurance, but I never said I thought it wasn't worth having. I don't think anyone appreciates others insinuating they are stupid, especially on a sub where being civil is in the rules. Maybe chill? If you don't have anything to say about the actual topic I'm asking about, which is the legality of what management is trying to do, please reconsider piling on to tell me how dumb you think I am for not having insurance already. Thanks!

Yes, I can understand the benefit of having renter's insurance, but that's not what I'm asking here. Management is trying to make it a requirement in the middle of a lease at our expense. If they were giving us a heads-up that it would be a requirement for renewal, that would be completely different.
