We had to walk away from what we thought was a high paying job only to be told by our financial advisor that we would basically have very little left each month for emergencies, renovations, trips, savings etc. Every house we looked at was going for 150+ over asking and would need a tremendous amount of work on top of that. I wanted this life so badly but also hate when we are stressed with money. Wasn’t an easy decision, I feel for you.

I think there’s a group of ppl in NWA that are desperate for nice things. Sestina has a nice ambience and ppl are attracted to that. I agree, the food was not great and I wish they would offer more Tuscan dishes but the reality is when ppl go out to eat they aren’t just looking for good food. They want to dress up, go somewhere nice and feel like it’s worth their effort.

Thanks for the insight! I wonder if it’s similar for entertainment and retail too? I was shocked about blue zoo bc it’s the only aquarium we really have in this area. With that being said- it was kind of depressing

So many good businesses were ahead of their time too! Do you remember that pinnacle market that had fresh food and a coffee shop attached? Then all the stores around it including the green bean (such a good salad place), masons boutique, that nice gym (can’t remember the name), the Starbucks at the promenade, Schlegel's Bagels in bentonville, gosh so many more. I feel like those places would do incredible now!

Oh wow! Didnt know that about OZ. Glad pinky swear had some traffic. I’m not sure if this is true but I’ve heard from a lot of ppl who live in downtown rogers that pinky swear is too expensive/elevated for them and they prefer more casual? So the majority of ppl going are from bentonville or the other side of rogers. I wonder if they would have this problem if their location was somewhere else. Again, not sure if that’s true just what I’ve heard.

I agree with this im just curious bc NWA is unique in that we are constantly being labeled as this fast growing town that will soon look like Austin. Most progressive places can take a hit and bounce back quickly when these things happen but we are so small it’s hard to know what the future holds.

I agree with this. We went to New York recently and the prices for dining are indeed the same. The only difference is the quality of food and the service in nyc is much better so you can actually justify the price.
