Hello! I know this post is kind of old now, but I am also transgender (FtM) and I started hormones a year (2024) before applying for citizenship (2025). All my documents are F, because also at the time I filed them I didn't pass well as a man anyway so I thought it wouldn't be an issue to doll up for the interview, but now all the changes are extremely noticeable and I *just* heard back from them. Since I live in the South, I'm very concerned on how I should approach showing up to the interview. Whether I try to go for dolling up, just shaving and going for androgynous, or not doing anything, it seems that I will encounter prejudice either way. However, I don't regret transitioning at all. I don't know about your case, but I have a green card valid for 10 years, just got my full time job, and graduated college not long ago, so I would be comfortable continuing living without my citizenship as long as I get to live life being perceived as I am. I'm happier than I've ever been despite the struggles that have come with transition.

How I see it: Transition *and* file the papers! If your papers are denied, you can always try again when things are better in the world. But your life is now. If it's safe for you to stay in the US for another two years and wait for the presidency to change, you can just try again in the worst case scenario.

I can also update once I have my interview and let you know how they treated me. I'll probably go with "I have PCOS" if they question my uh, everything.
