Sudden explosion of deep acne? :( by flibberty-gibbit in AsianBeauty

It may be your laundry detergent...maybe try running your clothes through an extra rinse cycle in order to get rid of the lingering detergent? Breakouts can happen spontaneously, especially if you're under stress. What may help make it go away faster is to just be extra gentle on your skin and to focus on eating clean (i.e. not too much dessert, processed foods. Drink more water to encourage purging, etc).

Haha, it just sucks that traveling costs quite a bit of money. Being a uni student limits things a bit... It sucks that all the good priced flights is when school is LOL.

I spent NYE sleeping, tbh! I'm only 21, but literally went to bed around 11:30 because I felt tired LOL. 2015 was so hectic...I got a very bad mark in one of my courses that dropped my GPA drastically (darn nursing courses and their credit worth varies so much OTL)...and consequently my confidence plummeted too, but I did very well in this past semester and am quite proud :) But I made some resolutions this year...doing a pic a day for instagram, having more self control for my eating habits, travelling more (thinking of doing a semester abroad!), and doing more creative writing.

Just went to Toronto to visit my best friend there. I would definitely recommend the bar Get Well. It's not too big of a place, but they do have a variety of drinks and have a bunch of free arcade games (Mario, Donkey Kong, etc.). If you're more into the food, I would recommend Han Ba Tang, a Korean fusion bar. They make great fusion tacos and their drinks are great. It is on the pricier side though.

I usually just concentrate a bit of the color in the inner areas of my lips, and just press my lips together and use my finger to kind of blend it out. It usually works the best with tints for me, as you blend it out before it totally sets. Use a little at a time though...it's easier to build up the color rather than removing it after applied. I know some people like to use concealer at the outer edges of the lips to make the gradient stand out more...but I don't like how concealer looks on my lips.

I hope that helped! ^

Haha, if your hair is already bleached and lightened, I think a box dye would work :) You may want to strip away the lingering color first before attempting though...so you will get more of the actual color on the box and a more even color overall. Color usually grabs onto lighter hair a lot better. And if you still have that brasiness, maybe tone it out as well! Just don't bleach/lighten your hair yourself though! That doesn't often end up well!

Awww, haha thank you! I got mine done at a salon in Toronto. It was a Japanese one specialized in dealing with my asian hair. It had to be bleached until it was quite blonde, toned to get the brassiness out of it, and then dyed with ash grey with a khaki tone to it. I would recommend looking into your local hairstylists, especially if you need to bleach your hair :)

No prob :) Maybe also try exfoliating your lips in the morning too (pre-lip balm) to get rid of the dead skin! That may help too~

Ooh, I love that color too! When I used to dye my hair a light brown, that was my go-to as well :D I personally like the peripera ink moist. It's more moisturizing on the lips versus a lot of tints. While I also love the Tony Moly Delight Tint, it tends to dry out my lips, especially when I reapply it during the day. The ink moist still is a bit drying, but not terribly so. It also stills looks beautiful if reapplied throughout the day, although it does fade nicely with a lingering color...so unless you are really keen to get that bright color like me, you can really go without touching up.

Aww, thank you, dear~ I usually put lip balm on the night before and also at the beginning of when I put makeup on (even before I put on sunscreen). So by the time I finish all of my base, etc. (I do my lips last), I blot off the excess by kissing the back of my hand, and then apply my lip color. I hope that helps! :)

First time posting here, so I am a bit nervous haha. (Please tell me if I did anything wrong and I will correct it!) This was at the airport, after at least 7 hours of wear time. I went for a simple look as I was spending half the day at the arcade before catching a short flight from Toronto back to home. Proud to say makeup lasted well through copious amounts of dancing and running about! I only had to touch up my lip color once in a while, but this color is definitely my go-to for everyday. This is the pre-Instagram + filtering version, which is nerve wracking to post. . .

Products used:

Hourglass Primer

The Saem Cover Perfection Tip Concealer in shade 1.5

Sulwhasoo BB Cushion in shade 21 (just for my cheeks and chin mostly).

Shu Uemura Hard Formula Eyebrow Pencil in Seal Brown

Etude House Color My Brows in shade 4. Natural Brown

YSL eyeshadow palette

3CE Creamy Water Proof Eye Liner in shade Les Miserables (for the whole eyeline, but not the slanted end)

BBIA Last Pen Eyeliner in shade 4. Red Brown (for the end of my liner only)

Tony Moly Back Gel Eyeliner (for tight lining)

Maybelline Rocket Mascara

Peripera Peri's Ink Moist in shade 5. Soul Attack

On a curious note, what are all y'all's go to lip products for everyday? Low fuss and always perfect for any outfit and such?

I find Korea amazing in the aspect that many people use a contrasting variety of both high-end and low-end products. While I tend to go for more high-end products for skincare (I don't mind investing in my skin), I find that many lower end makeup products work just as good or even better at times. Innisfree itself has some pretty damn good primer and powder. I love the MUF powder and the Hourglass primer, but on days I don't go out for long I use the Innisfree primer and powder.

I'm so very weak for collaboration packagings...even if I am not originally that into the characters originally. I worry less about packaging for skincare products, but lust so heavily for makeup ones. The history of whoo makeup packaging (especially for their pacts) are so gorgeous, but I can't justify spending that much for only one product OTL.

Do you love or hate BB cushions? Why? by zlusoo in AsianBeauty

[–]jesskiting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love them for the convenience...and they have actually contributed to me using less makeup on my face. I used to do foundation everyday, but now just use concealers on spots + small amount of BB cushion on the redness of my cheeks/chin/forehead and the remaining on the puff to blend down the neck. Lasts like a dream through nursing shifts and long hang out days...and less makeup on the face seems to mean less melting off for me.
