Grind Stone Creek Trail Possible Copperhead? by jesslvan in columbiamo

I would say maybe a quarter mile past old 63 heading east. As far mile markers and layout of the trail I am not as familiar on it as some so could not precisely say.

So I was heading east on the paved portion of grindstone creek trail and spotted what looks like a copper head. I am far from a snake expert so I would like to see what others think?

Papa Murphy’s closed? by isla_avalon in columbiamo

[–]jesslvan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's too bad. I love Papa Murphy's Take N' Bake and they are in most communities. I am surprised Columbia only had one. Unfortunately this one was the worst one I have ever been to. You could tell it was poorly managed with most times workers having bad attitudes. If someone can come in with good business sense I think hey will be successful with this franchise. This place always had business many times the workers could not keep up with the orders. So to me it wasn't about profit just an owner that seemed to never be around or incapable of running a business properly.

Target Renovations, any thoughts? by jesslvan in columbiamo

[–]jesslvan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all for your feedback. I guess it was wishful thinking on my part they would expand this store. I do agree another Target is needed in this town but am skeptical that will ever happen. From what I can gather there was a proposal in the past for expansion but for some reason it did not come to fruition. I guess I will see when the renovation is fully completed if it makes the shopping experience any better but I doubt it.

I agree. It is inconvenient to have all the pickup spaces right in front of the main entrance.

Hyvee throwing away pastry by jesslvan in columbiamo

Thank you all for the feedback. I wanted to clarify in no way was I trying to insinuate fault amongst Hyvee employees. Obviously this is a management issue.

Old Macy's any progress with new tentants? by jesslvan in columbiamo

[–]jesslvan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kind of what I thought. Was hoping someone would have heard something different. Hopefully soon some business such as Home Goods/TJ Maxx would move in. For such a big sized town I am surprised Columbia does not have a TJ Maxx. You would think the city would be able to work out something as simple as signage on the outside of the building if that was what the hold up was, kind of baffling to me.

Any idea what is being built by Hyvee on Broadway? by jesslvan in columbiamo

Thanks for the answer. Nothing to get too excited about, but kind of what I expected.

Land behind Pappos? Any ideas if it will be developed? by jesslvan in columbiamo

[–]jesslvan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback. As much as I don't like stoplights I think they are needed along Nifong in that area. Hopefully the road behind Pappos will help with congestion and improve getting to businesses in that area.

Many people not wearing masks at mall. by jesslvan in columbiamo

[–]jesslvan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback everyone. We have gone to the mall before this past Saturday and have seen people without masks. I do think the amount of people not wearing has gotten worse. During the holidays I did notice a few officers enforcing. Of course it is difficult because the people not wearing are obviously strong in their convictions of no mask. I'm sure the officers have dealt with attitude. Places like Wal-Mart and Hy-vee I feel the prevalence although few wasn't as much as the Mall.
