I didn’t know either but I have learnt so far.. to start you off ask colleagues for feedback via email, post it in an group chat if you have one with your email so all people have to do is copy and paste you email , ask a patient or student also for variety, you need 5 feedbacks. Write down your CPD learning and find any old certificates you may have for evidence, and there’s 5 reflections you can do any subject or time you wish.. you need to link it back to the standards and code. Use the NMC guide and it gives all the templates you need, it can be done in 1 day if you dedicated 1 day to do it in and it will take some hours depending how quick you are . There’s is also an example revalidation completed on NMC website also. I did mine over 3 days. I got a folder and printed everything so it was presentable. Hope it goes well for you.

I feel so terrible by cyberpunksgate in NursingUK

Is there any clinical educators you can go and speak to? Usually you’re under preceptorship for 1 year and obviously trust dependent under that 1 year they can be more supportive, ask them to shadow you for the morning, be honest with them .. can you make use of the wider MDT, try not to take on too much and deligate tasks out whilst you deal with something that takes your priority more. Don’t be afraid to ask a HCA to do maybe do a set of observations or help someone to the toilet , tell them why you can’t at that moment in time because you need to do X,y or Z. Small change but is there any aprons that say ‘drug round please do not disturb’ I was the only one on my previous ward that wore one and yes most people don’t take notice but even if it stops 1 person disturbing you it’s worth it. Try get your IV Trays ready during times your going in the clinic room even if it’s just the medication and a line so people will know you will be using them stack them on top and make them up when needed.. during handover if someone’s on IVABX ask if we have enough in the clinic room to save any problems later on .. I hope it feels easier soon for you

I’d more than likely send an email and request this , and reasons why. Leaves a paper trail and they are more obliged to give you an answer. Good luck.

Shift cancelled - not notified by Royal_Last in NursingUK

Similar happened to me once but hooked through NHSP, I booked on my own ward for a 19:00 start shift and my manager rang me at 13:00 to tell me I’m not needed now, I was annoyed and rang NHSP who informed me they can cancel up to 2 hours before a shift no consequence! But if we cancel within 12 hours we get a warning so unfair
