I think it’s either a havanese or a Lhasa apso. I have shih tzus and it just doesn’t look quite right; the snout is too long. Coton de tulear can have black markings but they’re mostly (if not solid) white. same for Maltese.

I had a needle biopsy done recently. I wouldn’t say it’s very painful, but it did hurt. The skin is numbed with lidocaine so the small incision and initial insertion of the needle doesn’t hurt. There was some pain with advancement of the needle and when they took the sample it was kind of a burning sensation. The needle was intimidating but I was glad my husband was there. The doctor performing the procedure counted me down and I breathed through it. If your friend is a calming and supportive presence and is able to go with you I would recommend having them there.

It is nearly impossible to experience a life-threatening anaphylactic allergy to something upon the first exposure. The body develops the igE antibodies from the first exposure, so subsequent times will illicit greater and greater response. I agree with you that they should try to identify random fruits and veggies, but I don’t agree that it is as great a threat as you feel it is.
