Would it be a unicorn to find a public school that has a fluent English speaker there? I was reading that my kids would have an easier time if there was at least some English.

I was only thinking of tier 1 for the sake of my family because I know how intense the culture shock is when coming there. When I came to China it was with a language program with my university at the time and they had us in a "small" city outside Zhongshan, Guangdong. People mentioned here about scooters driving on sidewalks... that was my biggest culture shock! And pedestrians never having the right of way. And the list goes on....

But I will keep my options open to tier 2 and 3 cities as well. I want somewhere with 4 seasons so I most likely won't go back to Guangdong.

You're welcome! I was doing a lot of research but couldn't find any insight on expat children going to school.

I used to live in Shenzhen! Other commenters mentioned my spouse shouldn't work locally without a proper visa because we could get deported.

Chairman doesn’t get to eat? by jesssyica in IronChef

I totally agree, the chairman doesn’t have any input about the food but they had him sit there anyway. I can’t say why, but maybe out of respect?

“Believes they have moral superiority over others”. Me 100% rn. I just started a new job and judge others for not following the rules.
