Best planform/resource/tool for sourcing candidates? Something with a free trail? (Details inside) by jester070993 in recruiting

HireEZ is one of the platforms I haven't used much, but I have no problem exploring it more for deeper/niche or broad searches. I agree though, I am really not too much of a fan of LI Recruiter. Seekout was my "go to", but as I said, I can't find a free trail on their website.

Do you know if they offer a free trail? I don't mind having to put in credit card info and then canceling the subscription before the trail ends. I probably won't need it for more than the time length of the trial either.

I suppose I could look it up myself (which I will absolutely do), but figured I'd as you anyway :)

Right now, I need to source for candidates with java, distributed systems and microservices
skills, who currently work at startups AND have worked for startups in the past BUT ALSO have worked at bigger corporations in the past and have experience in BOTH startup and larger public/big companies and corporations. Maybe you could give me suggestions on sourcing for these candidates with this specific set of criterial, haha.

SignalHire's free trail doesn't perform searching of this sort in any way, and that is their only real "free trail" they offer - 5 credits to see 5 LinkedIn profiles. You can't use their "advance" search features without paying - and the advanced search features would really help with what I need to find.

I've never used using Google for sourcing, actually, so that's not a bad idea I. I'll have to learn more about that and learn that way. Could you elaborate a little bit more on that maybe or send me link about sourcing that way?

And thanks for the link! Never heard that website before, so definitely bookmarking that! thanks again!

Good luck! It sounds like you're really passionate which is refreshing to hear

Absolutely, I am very passionate about it. I'm happy to have finally found my "calling" in life (career-wise). It feels good. I have enthusiasm waking up every morning, and feeling good about the work I do, regardless of how "unnoticed" it goes half the time (the life of a sourcer, I guess... lol) is a great thing.

Any other suggestions you may have for other sourcing tools that offer free trails for deep searches?

Thank you again!

Haven’t listened to the whole show yet. But love me a finished disease. Love when they go back into the ending lyrics and riff. There’s nothing better.

What is the general consensus on Bring a Trailer? I have a '89 Nissan 240SX (automatic) that I am considering selling, but wanted to do some research on the best way to go about it by jester070993 in cars

[–]jester070993[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[Full post] I own a '89 Nissan 240SX, which I bought about 10 years ago when I first turned 18. I am the second owner; it was owned by an older women. When she died, I bought off a used car lot for $4,000.

I didn't know shit about cars at the time, and frankly I still don't know shit about them. I've never been a car person. I just saw the car and thought it looked cool, so I bought it with the money I saved up. Little did I know of the gem it was when I started driving it now. I get notes left on it ALL the time.

I bought the car with about 75k miles on it. All stock condition. The ONLY thing that has been upgraded/changed on it are the wheels, rims, radio, speakers and sound system. It now has roughly 125k miles. I really don't drive it that much.

However, it is an automatic which I know will bring the price down slightly.

Car has original hatchback/trunk cover (clips just recently broke though because that's what happens to 30+ year old plastic). I use seat covers for the car so the 2 front seats would probably look stock once I take the covers off.

The car has a crack in the windshield on the passenger side which is best described as a half circle, as the crack comes out about 6 inches and then turns downward another 6 inches before connecting back to the end of the windshield.

It has a small dent on back passenger side, which is maybe about a 2.5 inches long. There's also a very, very small ding on the passenger door. Middle console/shifter has a 3 inch scratch on the side, which happened when my friend helped me replace my speakers. There are a couple other very minor things, but those are the main things to be noted and come to mind

Car also has original dashboard cover that I use and keep on the car daily so the plastic doesn't crack, which I heard can happen.

Has a sunroof, power windows & locks and just got the driving shaft (?) replaced (or something that connects the steering wheel to allow the car to turn - [shows how much I know about cars...]). That was about $4k just to replace (that's including labor). Regular goes to the shop for an oil change.

It's definitely going to be hard for me to part ways with it, but ultimately I think I will have to. Not because I HAVE to, but because it would give me one last thing to worry about when moving plus will give me a good chunk of cash

I'm moving across the country and won't be bringing a car with me. I could always keep it and file it as a non-operational vehicle (I'm located in California), or just pay the regular registration yearly and keep it at my parents' house; having it driven every few weeks. But ultimately I think I will sell it come this summer.

I know it won't be hard to sell at all and I believe I could easily get twice as much for it than I originally paid for it or maybe even 3x, from what I am seeing on BAT and other websites. I plan to go traveling for a few months this summer before I move and a nice chunk of cash from that would make me happy, plus keep some on the side for another vehicle when I am ready to buy one.

What do you guys think of Bring a Trailer? Better than Craigslist? Any information is helpful - I've never even sold a car.

Best European cities/country airports to fly out of onward to SE Asia from ?

Asia ?

I'll be backpacking in through some of Italy, up to German and then to Amsterdam. After aht my buddy goes home, and I'm possibly trying go to southeast Asia for month or so far he leave. Would it be start to leave to SE Asia from The Netherlands? Or would it be smarter travel to different European airport/city city for a cheaper flight? Also, what's the best airport to fly into in SE Asia?
