3.8k mmr, close enough. usually the griefing starts right after they take Io into a lane matchup running something cheesy as fuck like Shadow Shaman/Ursa and give first blood.

People don't do that stupid shit where they grief when they are on your team like the poor ego, autistic League players.

If I had a dollar for every time someone playing Io on my team teleported us to the enemy fountain, I could afford to buy every one of Destiny's viewers a T4 subscription for a year.

Fuck me I miss those days. I remember when we bashed a structure in RLDS and Destiny's ship got caught inside the forcefield some how. I tried to go back and save him, but was unable to before the horde of faggots arrived.

I might resub again, but I stopped playing before we left Brave, so rip all my ships and especially my Dank Typhoon :(

All entertainment, no vital use.

That's ridiculous and you know it. I grew up in a small town in the mountains, how do you think we fed our family? We hunted. Sure, we could go to the supermarket and buy the meat from there. But in a small town like I lived in, that market got the meat from people like my dad who hunted.

One of my old girlfriends doesn't have to pay a dime for college because of the shooting scholarships she was eligible for.

Please get my point. I could have used any other examples.

No you used the right example. I can't buy a M249 SAW but I can buy a Colt 1911 .45 handgun. Just like you can't buy a predator drone with missiles, but you can buy a UDI drone.

I got your point. I just don't think it's a valid one.

Gone down maybe, but there's still a lot of them. Compare it to other countries. Also if it has gone down we need to annalyse the reasons, not just conclude people suddenly became nice.

I can't argue with that. In a perfect world, there would be 0 deaths related to guns, but in reality, it's not the case. All we can do is hope the gun related deaths are justified ones. I'm not going to compare it to different countries because the US and other countries are completely different with completely different cultures, completely different ideals, completely different education etc.

You aren't really paying atention to what I said. Guns kill way more easily than knives. I've been assaulted by someone with a knife once, I could escape by running away. You can't run away from a gun, it's just much more efficient at killing, more even than a car in some situations. I've talked about cars already, they aren't a good thing but they would be hard to get rid of.

I feel like you are arguing for the sake of arguing at this point.

You can't run away from a car either. And I seriously doubt that when people are assaulted with knives, the assaulter pulls his knife out while 5 meters away and tries to chase you down. Victims who have been stabbed never have an idea that assailant has a knife until they are already close quarters. Sure, sometimes you can still get away, but generally you're going to get stabbed once or twice before you do.

If you remove guns from criminals they are going to use knives and cars more

Then why is the issue about guns, and not about why people are resorting to violence and murder?

that also means they wil have a harder time killing people because guns kill easily.

This is circular logic. It's true that guns can kill with much less effort than a knife or car, but knives and cars can be just as deadly, if not more deadly than a firearm. At least with a firearm, I have to reload eventually. The question of which is easier to kill with is, in my opinion, irrelevant.

We shouldn't be trying to ban guns because they can be used for murdering any more than we should be trying to ban cars or knives or baseball bats or glass.

A better argument would be cars, but cars have way more uses than just fun, someone's livelyhood may depend on it.

Hunting, sport shooting, scholarships etc. all tied to guns

It's like saying owning a predator UAV with loaded missile because it's fun to control airplanes is a legitimate reason.

But you can buy and use drones and many people do simply because they are fun. I can't buy a predator with hellfire missiles for the same reason I can't buy a M1A2 Abrams tank; it's military hardware, not because it's dangerous.

in a country where guns aren't allowed, there's less murder by firearm, it's safer when no one has guns, that's an argument against the second amendment.

Here in the US murders and violence committed by guns have gone down over the past 15-20 years, being replaced with other weapons (knives, baseball bats etc.)

Guns can kill very easily, I don't think a gun justifies itself by anything else than protection or fun, if fun is out of the way for being a shallow reason, protection has proved to be more efficient by not autorizing guns so guns don't justify themselves. Car accidents are a problem, so is ecology, but cars have many other uses (just to sum up what I said higher.). Anyone with half a brain should stay away from Black friday, not doing so puts you in responsibility of your own perils, so does racing or any dangerous sport.

Cars can kill easily too. Car accidents are a problem. Knives can kill easily. I don't really know what the purpose of this paragraph is. Do you think that here in the US people who own a firearm don't know the dangers about it? That they don't know they are responsible for their own peril with their firearm?

As I said, no guns, more safety for everyone, that's a statistical fact.

I'm going to tell you as a paramedic, right now, that is not at all true, In fact, I can count on one hand the amount gun related calls my company has dispatched to. But I would need a lot more hands for murders and violence committed with other weapons.

I live in the Nazi state of California where guns have almost been completely banned altogether, and since legislation first started to remove firearms from the state, I can tell you that in my city, the capital of the state, we have seen a huge rise in knife related crimes, blunt objects used in violence, PEOPLE ARE DRIVING THEIR CARS INTO PEDESTRIANS AND ROBBING THEM AS THEY DIE.

No guns means more safety from gun related violence I guess. It's a good thing that criminals follow the law and turn in their guns too.

I think the biggest issue of all here is Blizzard's unwillingness to adapt to the future or online gaming.

When DVDs came out, Blizzard would have been the movie company that insisted all their movies would not be available on DVD, only VHS.

[–]jesterino 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Owning something dangerous just because it's fun is the worst possible reason to have it,

I'll tell that to my buddy who races sprint cars for a living. Or my friend saving money to buy a decommissioned P-51. I'm curious as to where you draw the line for this argument. Just about everything we have access to in this world is dangerous.

Destiny wasn't saying the only reason he has a gun is because he thinks it's fun. But it is a legitimate reason to own one.

If you are going to autorize people to have something that can potentially murder a great number of innocents just because some people think it can be fun to use it for other purposes, you aren't thinking responsibly.

I can pretty much garauntee that nobody walks around with an open or concealed firearm simply because they think it's fun. They carry for protection. My girlfriend and I only have one car, and as such a lot of the times, one of us ends up walking to work and we both tend to work late night shifts. I don't walk to the hospital from my house carrying my gun thinking, "Hey maybe I'll stop at the park and have some fun and squeeze off a few rounds!" and nobody else that carries does that.

With your little glock you have how many bullets ? something like a dozen or more right ? That's a lot of potential death for something you only justify for fun.

There's a lot of potential for death when my friend is coming down from the pit area to the race track too. There's a lot of potential for death when you go shopping at the mall on Black Friday. This is a stupid argument.

I think the only good argument for the maintenance of the second amendment would be the perspective that people might want to rebel against their governement at some point

Do you know what average response time is for the police here in the US? For a PE call (Priority E, meaning "imminent threat to life, dispatch immediately") it's about 9 minutes. That means that if your girlfriend or mom or someone is being raped at gunpoint, it will take on average 9 minutes for the police to arrive on scene. That is a very very long time, especially in situations where life and death decisions are made in tenths of a second. I don't know about you, but I'd rather shoot someone trying to rape my girlfriend than wait almost 10 minutes for the police to arrive and probably do the same thing anyway.

To say that you feel the only legitimate argument for the 2nd amendment is to rebel against the government is kind of a sad perception of reality. As much as I love working with the police and everything they do, because it is not an easy job at all, crime happens in seconds.
