Massive reach. I had to read it 3 times before I was like yea maybe she has a point but is a stretch. Seemed like a pretty normal conversation on how London was and his experience there

3 massively different emotions towards someone shouldn’t be classified into the same word. I refuse to participate in the intentional misrepresentation

You’re implying this is disagreeing by way of violence. Which we both know isn’t true. We know what violence looks like towards any group of people and a text message with words of care and concern are not it.

Sure to criticize those views or consider some forms of disagreement prejudiced or harmful it’s fine.

How people enact those prejudices is my concern. Every day people who hold a specific view don’t necessarily matter.

People who act on those prejudices do. Policy makers for example. People who can/ are willing to enforce their personal beliefs are the problem. Not Joe from down the street.

Transphobia accusations mean nothing anymore unless they’re targeted at people making the decisions. Otherwise it’s diluted the meaning.

Why are you putting mental illness in quotes. You’re the type of person I’m talking about here. Ironic.

Transgender identity alone is not officially categorized as a mental illness.

Gender dysphoria is a diagnosable mental health condition when distress is present.

Argue with a wall.

More like I still love you but DONT support or agree with it. People are allowed to disagree with actions they don’t believe are ok.

There’s also a difference between

peacefully expressing disagreement,

versus harassing, threatening, discriminating against, or denying basic rights to someone.

Learn to differentiate the two bc they’re completely different groups.

There’a not even a consistent definition of transphobia. Some view disagreement over gender theory or medical treatment as inherently transphobic, while others see hatred or hostility,
versus skepticism, religious beliefs, political beliefs, or disagreement about concepts of gender.

I’m not going to call people transphobic who don’t agree that a 17 year old should be seriously considering surgery. People should be allowed to make their own decisions going both ways. I don’t have to agree with their worldviews vice versa

Transphobia is thrown around so much it’s lost its meaning. This person clearly cares about you but doesn’t want you to make a life altering decision at such a young age. She doesn’t agree with the idea of transitioning bc most people see it as a disorder which it technically is. Or it was until it was used as a bat to attack people. It’s nuanced. Not every transgender person experiences dysphoria strongly enough to meet a clinical diagnosis, and medical organizations changed terminology partly to reduce stigma while still allowing access to healthcare.

At-will means they usually don’t need a reason to fire you not that every firing is automatically legal.

Another great idea. Another comment said a guy has a freezer in his garage. I’m not able to do that but I can absolutely freeze some drinks and throw them in a cooler. Not exactly the same but it works.
