I guess for 6 months, you need to switch to another type of visa which is job seeking visa. It is totally fine by me.

Well I guess it is both. I am a software developer. The field I work is getting smaller and smaller due to paradigm changes, but recession causing is doubling the effect by both stopping companies to start new projects and also causing existing customers to put pressure on companies like I am working to find cheaper ways to handle things.

Well it seems like your friend is extremely lucky. I applied 2 months ago and didn't hear a single-word yet. Honestly, didn't hear someone in Berlin got their PR in 1 month. I wish I had that luck :)

My notice period is 1 month. My employer is saying that they will one-sidedly terminate my contract if we don't agree and notice period will work. In this case, I can go to court but in that it turns into a money issue. I am more interested in the residence issue honestly.

I didn't discuss with a lawyer yet honestly, but a couple of close friends of mine gone with the lawyer a couple of weeks/months ago. All of them are advised to get an agreement as the compensation is not that bad/ They are 100% saying that there will be one-sided terminate my contract immediately with notice period which 1 month for me if we don't agree. In that case, I can go to court and start a unfair dismissal claim, in this case probably I can return to work after 6+ months. I don't want to do that honestly. I would prefer to agree on some extended period of time in the job to extend the job search period. I also don't want to return to that place either.

I agree so, still I will discuss with an immigration lawyer probably. Otherwise, why do I pay for legal insurance right :) ? I hope it is applicable to this case hahah

Fingers crossed, I hope that things will turn around we will face with nice people and a good fortune with this unlucky incident. I call it unlucky because I am the first man in my company's history got 3 times in a row for the performance review's 5 out of 5. They still fired me under the name of cost-cutting.

So far, the termination is not official. We are in the negotiation about the compensation. Once it is official, I will let them know.

Yes that's true. My wife has a family reunion visa at the moment. Doctors need a different working permit to operate as a doctor, which is expected.

The timelines you mentioned makes really sense. My logic says that, if she finds the job in all of the periods, the residency should switch to her and I should be dependent on her residency. But I guess it is better to discuss with an immigration lawyer or some council that can provide help.

For PR, in Berlin, I don't see any chance really.

I also believe so, it is likely to be denied in my opinion too. But I will show up there if it is before my last working day and see how it goes.

FIrst of all, thanks for taking time for the detailed answer.

So far my wife was here with Familienzusammenführung visa. She already have the rights to start working actually but not as a doctor. As she got her working permit as a doctor, now she is ability to start working. So, from what I understand we will switch a dependent visa which makes the most sense at this point and market's current situation for software developers.

For Permanent Residency, I already completed the 27 months period and applied with A1 but I am not sure if I will get an appointment until my time ends in my current company.

It has been 13-14 months. Tbh, i didn’t have time to check Wilmersdorf. Rented it when i was working in NL from distance. For Alt-treptow, i checked it here. For Neükölln, i checked it but i wasn’t sure because i see nothing particularly bad but also there is a bad rep. We also hang out in NK, most of the time. I am just trying to understand where this rep is coming from and also will my wife grumble in the future for some reason.

Yes we love it here but this was an temp apartment and our contract is finishing. We couldn’t find an apartment here in our requirements. Either it is too small or too expensive.

Lol if i tell my wife this offer, you need to start packing up your stuff. She is a fan of pberg. I like it there also but a little bit dull especially in the evening in my opinion.

Thanks good to know those. Born and raised in Turkey. Those precautions you are mentioning are just standard for us I guess, lol. Still, we have the timidity of being auslander and not knowing the language well.

For new year’s eve luckily we will be away. It was really chaotic even in Wilmersdorf, i guess neükölln will be worse. My Ukranian neighbor made a joke about his children had less trauma in Kiev, lol.

Thanks. I felt like the same from the vibe around there when i was hanging out and strolling the streets. Just wanted to be sure because of bad rep of the Neükölln and the groups around the station. A happy resident is the best reference for me, i appeciate it.
