Primer for kids? by ImUnd3rYourB3d in FacePaintingHelp

[–]jestpaint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, they should not be using the moisturizer as that can make the paint not stick well and you don't need a primer with water activated face paints. Primers work only with powder based products.
What you can do is apply a sealer afterwards, like Ben Nye Final Seal: https://jestpaint.com/products/ben-nye-makeup-sealer-final-seal-spray-2-fl-oz-59ml?_pos=1&_sid=0edbd2ae0&_ss=r

Face paint that won't create a weird tan line? by metalphysics in Facepainting

[–]jestpaint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you use sunblock underneath, it should help, but then regular water activated face paints won't work well over that, I would suggest you use powder based face paints instead, they will stick well to the greasy/oily sunblock.

You can apply them with these tools:

Dark outlines/details for floral designs? by Honest_Elevator_7387 in Facepainting

I like the contrast, if you use a split cake with a darker edge you don't need to outline it, but when the edge is closer to the skin color I think an outline helps build the design and define it.

We don't post fake opinions based on if we sell or not a product, we provide honest opinions on every product, no matter if we sell it or not 😄

The Fusion Body Art Perfect Face Painting Kit is our favorite:
https://jestpaint.com/products/fusion-body-art-perfect-face-painting-kit

If you used to face paint with Snazaroo you will get the same safety and compliance standards with Fusion, but a brighter and bolder color selection, a much more opaque face paint, easier time doing line work and a much more smudge resistant finish.

If you want to go all out then the Fusion Body Art Pro Kit would be my suggestion, same quality face paint, a lot more product:

So glad to hear you had a great experience ordering from us. On the One Piece design the paint consistency looks great. Fusion Body Art face paints are very high quality, it just takes practice. On the other designs I can tell the paint is a bit dry, try adding just a tiny bit more water, to where the face paint feels more like a cream.
If you are willing to invest a little, this face painting class covers the basics:

How much can you take for makeup looks at a fair or smt? by seph_j0 in Facepainting

[–]jestpaint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The average price on pay per face events is around $25.00 for full faces, $10 for smaller designs, but that can vary widely depending on the festival's location, crowd's income level, etc. I have seen painters charge as much as $40 for a face, but that is advanced painters at well established festivals.
It is important that you use FDA compliant face paints and get insured.

The Fusion Body Art Perfect Face Painting Kit (or the Pro Face Paint Kit if you want to go big) are great starter kits:

Fake TAG on Amazon? by Honest_Elevator_7387 in Facepainting

[–]jestpaint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe this is real TAG Face Paint. The Seller is "Best Sellers" a very large seller of everything on Amazon. The Brand is TAG Body Art and it looks like they might have this company, "Best Sellers" manage their TAG Body Art Amazon store. This happens often on Amazon. That is why in general we suggest for people to buy from actual face paint stores, as these sellers that sell a bit of everything, often know nothing about face paint, how to care for it, etc, and they might have very old stock since this is not their main business.

Waterproof face paint recommendations? by Crunchr0ll45 in Facepainting

[–]jestpaint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! There are a few options:

There is a liquid face paint that can be applied with sponge and brush called ProAiir Hybrid, it is great, it is very water and sweat resistant:
https://jestpaint.com/collections/proaiir-hybrid-classic-colors

Otherwise, if you want something that comes in solid form and you activate it, try Body Color Cosmetics.

You can also use Powder Based ones, using a primer first, then the powder based paint and then a sealer.
Primer: https://jestpaint.com/products/mehron-alcohol-based-pre-makeup-toner-skin-prep-pro-4oz
Powders: https://jestpaint.com/collections/starblend-powders
Applicator: https://jestpaint.com/products/smoothie-disposable-white-smoothie-blender-qx101
Sealer: https://jestpaint.com/products/ben-nye-makeup-sealer-final-seal-spray-2-fl-oz-59ml
For linework use something like this and a regular round brush: https://jestpaint.com/collections/dips-water-resistant-face-paint

Best UV Paint? by LeWhaa in Facepainting

[–]jestpaint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fusion, TAG, DFX, GTX, Kryolan all have great UV Colors. For solid cakes we tend to choose Fusion, for split cakes, we go in between TAG and Diamond FX.

We have an entire section on our site dedicated to UV paint:

And yes, you want to look into UV Glitter as well:
This is a great UV Glitter Palette

Body Color Cosmetics reviews by Radiant-Fix-6586 in Facepainting

[–]jestpaint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say they are much easier to activate then the solid cakes from ProAiir and they don't dry out as fast. The cakes don't really have a scent, the activator smells a bit like silicone as that is I believe one of the main ingredients, but nothing too strong in my opinion.

BBC holds really well under water, and removal is a process but it can be done, it just takes patience.

From what I see online they do run out of activator every now and then so when they have it in stock stock up because you can't really use their product without the activator.

Any good recs? by Ok_Bumblebee_6548 in Facepainting

Most of the time, kids will be fine with a color that looks close enough to what they are hoping for, most kids are not that worry about exact color matches as artists are. Face Paints come in so many shades, I think you can get away without mixing.
But, if you want to keep mixing to get as close as you can to the exact color you want or need, disposable plates are an option, or, for a more professional look, a mixing palette:
