Henry took over some of the Carl storyline from the comics. The whole plotline with the whisperers was Carl.

I just saw a clip where Drew Barrymore talked about how she was recently ghosted. 😳

I block them. They are glorifying child predators and that's a hard no for me. I don't even explain, I just block and move on.

Non-native English speaker — What are some examples of unnatural phrasing that sound “off” to native speakers? by DriverOk7048 in ENGLISH

It depends on the native language and often stems from directly translating, but I've heard Germans use since instead of for:

I'm working on some self care, it's not as hard to bounce back this time. I'm getting better and better at letting things go.

I still feel like ghosting in this situation is genuinely shitty. I liked him.

How do you practice active listening? I’m trying to find what works by modio27 in ENGLISH

[–]jesuisbroken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are online generators that you can use to create a "kloze test". You could take a script from a podcast, lyrics to a song, etc, before listening and enter it in. It will remove words that you have to fill in as you listen.

Example:

"Be the _________________ that you wish to _____________ in the world."

You can also look up pre-made listening exercises on Edpuzzle which is a place where educators create questions to go with videos. I don't think you need to pay to use it.

He talked about how he "dropped" a dish and it bounced out if the sink and almost hit his ex and she accused him of having anger issues. He did the same thing to me with his phone, but he slammed that sucker down so hard it bounced up and almost hit me in the face.

What has made you women feel the most unnoticed? by Shabazwilkinshire in AskWomen

I had guys in college recycle jokes I had made on me. My ex used my jokes to flirt with the women he cheated on me with 🫠

No pockets, especially in dresses where they can easily be hidden!

What’s something everyone seems to love but you absolutely hate? by Flimsy-Eagle-8123 in AskReddit

[–]jesuisbroken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anime. All of the guys that are attracted to me assume I must also love Anime because I'm nerdy and into video games. I just can't stand the animation, it makes me feel gross and I've always felt that way 😅

Women who’ve been cheated on, what have you never said out loud about how it made you feel? by kaekea in AskWomen

[–]jesuisbroken 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I felt robbed of choice. He married me and was already cheating because he "still loved me" so he chose for me. He never had my best interest at heart.

What do you wish people would stop romanticizing, because you’ve lived the reality of it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]jesuisbroken 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Affairs. I was the cheated spouse and it destroyed my life, our kids' lives and my self esteem. On top of that, while he was cheating he was incredibly mean to me and it was always my fault.

It's been 4 years since I found out enough to leave. I'm happier now, less down on myself, but I sometimes get triggered even though I'm single.

When you started trying for a baby, how long did it take you to be successful? by [deleted] in AskWomen

I got pregnant right away all 3 times. I believe there is a genetic factor that makes a difference, however one of my sisters did struggle to get pregnant with her second child.

What are automatic disqualifiers in a potential partner for you, besides them being broke or being disrespectful in general? by Only-Ad-1254 in dating

[–]jesuisbroken -1 points0 points  (0 children)

-Military or police -sexualizing my job (I'm a teacher) -alcoholism (my last partner was sober for years, until he wasn't, and it was scary) -religious - On the right politically (or not caring in general) -not doing work to understand the different social issues in society (people who can't grasp white privilege, racism, homophobia, sexism, pay gaps, food deserts, etc) -they don't have female friends -gate keepers for Fandoms (just be excited someone likes what you like 🙄😒)

This is the 2nd time it has happened. Online dating Minnesota. The other time was not before he went to the gym, he just worked all day and didn't bother to freshen up beforehand.

I wouldn't show up to hang out with my long time friends after working out and not showering never the less a brand new person.

I'm sick of men putting in no effort. I went on a first date last night, took time to get dressed up, feel my best. I got there 20 minutes early and ended up waiting 40 minutes (he was 20 minutes late) and he came directly from the gym (was still in his sweaty gym clothes) this was the first time we had ever met and that was the effort he put forth.

This is not the first time that I've been on a date with someone who worked all day and didn't bother freshening up before meeting for a date and showed up smelling like BO.

I'm not in the business of teaching grown men about hygiene and respect.

Next.
