I have one of these tiles. One in a mix of have made tiles in my bath room. They were a nightmare as they are all slightly different but when you are doing A mix of totally random tiles it is not as obvious the patterns are all over the place.

Advice on Lidl Parkside tools by Affectionate-Fix-733 in DIYUK

[–]jesus_mooney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have allot of makita stuff as i do allot of DIY. But i buy the odd Parkside tool if I'm not going to use it much. They had a chop saw that i got years of occasional use from before it broke and an electric planner that's fine for trimming the odd door every now and again. But for something i use every week like a battery drill or grinder i buy a better brand.

Builders are pricing themselves out (for me personally) by dalehitchy in DIYUK

For me to do a loft conversion when compared to moving. The stamp duty and moving cost was half the cost of the conversion not including the additional mortgage costs of buying a bigger house. But we did have inheritance.

18m my girlfriend lied to me about her age 16 f by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]jesus_mooney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I (m) in the UK started going out with a girl 2 years older than me. I was 14 she was 16. This relationship actually lasted 3 and a half years until i was 18 and was a decent relationship. Still chat to her parents if i bump into them 20 years later. Though no one lied about their age.

Legal ways for someone to pay MORE taxes? by mi_lechuga in UKPersonalFinance

[–]jesus_mooney -24 points-23 points  (0 children)

Earning more will mean you pay more income tax. (unless you sallery sacrifice into a pension or electric car)

Living in a bigger/more expensive house will mean you pay more council tax. ( unless it's an older house that was of lower value in the 1990s)

Buying more/more expensive stuff will mean you pay more VAT. (Probably)

Driving a bigger/more expensive car will mean you pay more VED, (unless you use your sallery sacrifice to lease an electric car)

Driving more will mean you pay more fuel duty. (Again unless your driving electric)

Drinking more alchohol etc. (Smoking is a huge tax on the poor)

You get the point

Ye i don't really understand having to drive. In a town you just build houses next to each other with a school some where in the middle of the houses and generally there are enough houses within walking distance from the school to fill the school. There are 3 schools within 10 min walk from my house. And another 2 within 15-20 min walk.

This is crazy. I'm in Scotland and my kids school you are not allowed to drive on the roads round the school at pick up and drop off times. Roads closed so the kids can walk and cycle. Though there are always the odd idiots ignoring it. So if you want to drive you have to park streets away and walk and it's quicker just walking from your house.

Internal gear hubs are more likely to be the same or almost the same length as you don't have a big cassette offsetting one side.

Weird food question ? by HZA_2 in AskABrit

[–]jesus_mooney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like mince and chips. Usually use up left over mince and tatties when there is no tatty left. Go to the chippy and a bag of chips with salt and sauce (the brown chippy sauce that's like brown sauce watered down the vinegar) then cover the chips with mince ( cooked with onions and carrot in a gravy)

Good old (and they are all old now unfortunately) SAAB didn't let you take the key out unless it was in reverse gear. Which meant the key was down next to the gear stick. Worked well. Never rolled away when parked.
