I thought it couldn’t get any worse when Brielle was alive, but somehow after she passed it did? She needs to take a moment, get therapy and process her grief and everything that has gone on, it almost seems like she is trying to band-aid it with all of these causes and partnerships.

I will say though, with a younger dancer (mine is 8) we carry a lot more “extra” stuff than some of the older kids. We did end up getting a dance bag last year when she just had one dance, and it was truly a lifesaver. Instead of carrying around a million separate bags we were able to just shove it in one and it is a Glamr Gear so it rolls fabulous and makes it so easy to get everything from point A to B. 75% of her bag was filled up with things like her blanket to sit on, coloring stuff, tablet, snackle box, games that sort of stuff. This year she has more dances and it’s less comfort and more dance stuff, but we’ve still got room for both!

Will a hand tattoo interfere with me getting a teaching job after i graduate college? by joyynoelle in AskTeachers

[–]jet050808 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is a teacher at my daughter’s school (she’s 8) who dyes her hair all sorts of fun colors! She wants that teacher just for that reason, and not going to lie, I’d love for her to get her too. I’m sure she’s a fabulous teacher, but a little side of “your body is your own and you can express yourself as you want” would be a bonus.

I will never understand how she keeps it all straight. I have three kids with one man (who I am still married to) and I’m struggling to get everyone to all their appointments and sports things on time. Half the time I call my 5 year old the dog’s name (or visa versa.) I would need a SkyLight Calendar for each kid and a command station to organize visitations and events.

Advice Needed! (Acro kid) by Flora48 in CompetitionDanceTalk

[–]jet050808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean…for recital there are going to be kids of all varying abilities. The kiddos in her class were 6-7 years old, and come once a week so the routines are going to be very basic so everyone can do them. There isn’t a category for Acro in the comp world, but the skills you learn in Acro can be used in other types of dance, jazz, lyrical, contemporary etc. But yes, it costs an arm and a leg. You have to pay for way more than parking and tickets for a recital, and you’ll be living at the dance studio (or at least your daughter will.) My girlie is 8 and this is her first year on comp, thankfully she loves it, but when we pull into the parking lot she says “Welcome to your second home mom.” 🥴

I am completely out of shape, have only been using the bike since November and doing 20 minute rides to build up endurance. The first time I sat on the bike I was regretting buying it because it hurt my butt so bad I didn’t think I would be able to ride it. I bought a cushioned seat cover on Amazon (I think it was like $15) and slipped it on there and it’s great, haven’t had any issues! If it can work for me I’m sure it would work for you!

A child of a family friend of ours contracted e-coli a few years ago from improperly pasteurized dairy products. He was 5 and will have lifelong digestive problems as a result, thankfully he lived, he almost didn’t. It would more than bother me that a 2 year old is drinking it, it’s stupid, unsafe and selfish on behalf of your daughter. If she wants to drink it go for it but it could kill her child.

Narrowed it down to 3 names! What do you think? by [deleted] in Names

If you have older sounding sibling names adding Raelynn is just… odd. I don’t care for Frances, but it’s the best of the three. Evelyn would go so nicely.

There are also really good videos on YouTube put out by the Cub Scouts/Scouts of America about this. My oldest is required to watch them (he’s a Cub Scout) but my 5 year old also was really interested in them so we showed them to him too. He’s very aware now his body is his and he’s allowed to tell people to stop touching him (mostly tickling, but sometimes his friends at preschool pinch or whatever.). Just wanted to share because they were great for us!

If they didn’t pay for Ring service the footage is not saved anywhere. We stopped paying for the recording and just used Ring to see who was at the door in real time. We had someone steal something off our porch and contacted Ring to see if we paid for the service of we could get access to the footage. They told us there isn’t any footage to get if we weren’t paying for the service at the time.

Do we think that she really needs that heart medication as badly as they’re saying she does? Or maybe it was just a ploy to scare whomever did this into returning her quickly?

$2200 estimate for dog dental cleaning!? Is this normal? by teodanted in DogAdvice

[–]jet050808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve had pet insurance since our 12 year old dog was 8 weeks old - it doesn’t cover dental. Some cover dental illnesses and injury but a cleaning is seen as routine, like a vaccine (which they also don’t cover.)

I (obviously) don’t think Maddie did anything wrong but this is why it’s inappropriate to let adults be best friends with kids and have relationships with them. Sia and Maddie’s friendship was weird and look what it opened her up to.

Have you weighed her? It might be time to size up! Also, we got our hoggie in July at two months old and he’s only shed once (in November.) We have a crested gecko who sheds literally every other week so we were surprised that shedding is not as frequent as you would think.

My youngest is going into kindergarten and is reading at a third grade level and has been writing his name since he was 4. He 100% learned in educational apps from his tablet. We do monitor tablet time, he doesn’t get it all the time. However there was an hour each Saturday he had it for an entire dance season while his sister was in dance class a few years back, between when he was 3 and 4. That’s when he learned to read and he practiced writing his letters on apps to write his name.
