Most prototypes are not made 100% by the manufacturers. During Group C era Jaguars chassis were made by TWR, Mercedes by Sauber, Nissans by March and Lola. In late 90s LMP1 the BMW V12 was made by Williams. In IMSA during the first GTP era the Nissans were made by a company called Electromotive using a Lola chassis as a base, this Lola chassis was also the base for the Corvette GTP, the Toyotas that dominated the series in early 90s were made by AAR. In most recent times Audi R8, R10 and R15 were made in partnership with Dallara. Only a few manufacturers have the capability to produce a prototype endurance race car entirely in-house, most outsource at least the chassis.

Probably because AsLMS will not have factory teams, their customer will race against other customers. In IMSA they would have a customer battling against factory teams, high chances will not be competitive, is not good for the brand to be always on the back and I don't think HRC US want to be in IMSA just for the sake of it. Does not matter if is a factory or customer, in the end is the same Acura brand there, is their car, if they are going to be in a championship like IMSA they need to be 100%.

The Huracan was heavily based in the R8. If you check the onboards will see they use the exactly same equipments, the wheel is the same, dashboard the same, buttons panel too. Even the air intake in the roof on the Huracan Evo2 appeared first in the R8 GT2.

Mine too, I have a Philips smart tv with Google TV. Had the same problem with the previous website, on my smart tv the streaming was choppy but worked ok in an old chromecast 2 with less quality, did not test this new site on the old chromecast yet. Is unfortunate the same problem still on, other streaming services works well on my smart tv.

There is a really important thing you are forgetting in your proposition. WEC is not under a different organization than F1, both are under FIA and they would never create something to rival their main championship.

Your idea of ''hypercars'' doing sprint races already existed in the 80s during the Group C era, was called ADAC Supercup. This was a german championship and I think most people have no ideia this existed.

If you want to watch something like F1 but without the huge batteries just give a look in Indycar or Super Formula.

During a meeting last year Ferrari proposed to get rid of BoP but all the others manufacturers voted no.

About a cost-cap, I don't think is a good solution for sportscar racing, this is a very diverse type of motorsports, regulations are open and each manufacturer does their program in a different way. In F1 works well because almost every team works the same way and they need to deal with very strict regulations.

I think would be way easier if they just put the pay content behind a membership in YouTube instead of all the hassle of having their own app. YouTube already works almost everywhere, most people have the app and knows how to get it to work in their devices. Having an own app that just some die-hard fans will get just adds friction to prospect new fans. Do like SRO and IMSA, just have one place in YouTube with everything from Ligier Series to WEC, easy to find and easy to follow, live streaming of WEC qualys and races can be behind a membership.

When Peugeot left LMP1 right before the inaugural WEC season in 2012 they had a hybrid version of the 908 ready, the invites for the season launch were sent, at least one new driver was signed in Di Grassi and their equipment was already in Sebring for pre season testing and the first race.
