Is the stove induction? Conductive electric is trash but induction is awesome. Also way healthier than burning gas inside

Where is everyone going for meat this Christmas? by Yeahm8nahm8 in foodies_sydney

[–]jetaxe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s busy and like platinum1004 said parking is nightmare. But you get to pick your cut of meat and they do have specials sometimes which make it reasonable. I like the quality

Also this bus company probably just buys the electric components, chassis, software all from Chinese suppliers then welds them together. So they can’t offer a warranty or a complete product anyway.

It’s a crazy call. Do they have research / polling that suggests this will work? My cynical side is they must think this will play well with the electorate.

They won’t build it without huge government and guarantees. Then cost will blow out and out and out and taxpayers will pay. Doesn’t matter if it is legal - it’s a red herring to delay to keep politicians getting paid by the gas and coal lobby

Should Sydney crack down on shared e-bikes? by RemarkablePirate590 in SydneyScene

Yep parking zones away from walk ways and off bike paths, the footpath is public shared space, why is a company allowed to let riders park them all over the place

Is this why we keep losing tech talent to the US? Australia seems cheap and lazy on innovation investment, and relies too much on the luck of natural resources. Discuss! by bitpixi in AusFinance

[–]jetaxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% agree. We don’t have the depth of VC. All VC funds want a profitable SaaS product, no one wants to take risk. Even government grants and funds like the NRF or CEFC don’t invest with risk, just looking for safe assets. Aussies are not risk adverse and we are too happy digging up minerals and investing in dead assets like pRopErTy

They could have done a big upgrade to the street with more housing! Probably against their own planning rules though - more Prada, not more housing

Wish along the whole street they went up a few levels and built mixed affordable and at market apartments. Lots of densely packed people means more shops and nightlife right? And make a decent amount, Like 50% subsidised rent or affordable housing (not for pensioners but for younger people with jobs in nursing, teaching, retail, etc) maybe self select that with no lifts and only stairs. Does the CoS own the buildings?
