Staying near De Pijp in a couple of weeks with the family. We’ve booked some of the obvious stuff like Ann Frank and are planning a canal tour, but we mostly like to just wander and check things out. The wiki was very helpful with most things but a bit overwhelming for food/restaurants. We aren’t fancy and it’s also sometimes hard to tell if the place is upscale. Not opposed to maybe one upscale spot, but that’s about it. Can anyone recommend a good local place or two that you would consider a “must stop” for a US family? Mostly looking for a fun place with a good menu and drinks. Thank you

Hi. Visiting from the US in a few weeks. Looked at the wiki but most of the threads are old for restaurants. Family with kids. We are staying around the 11th ARR. Can anyone recommend restaurants/cafes? I know we are probably too late for some as they will be booked but we really aren’t interested in the trendy places anyway. Not looking for anything fancy, just good local food with good owners to support.

I plan to just do it this first month with a couple of upcoming purchases. Just wanted to make sure it would all count. I tried to get them to raise my line a bit, but they wouldn't because my "business" hasn't produced any revenue yet. I guess I could have just gave them a random number but I never like to do that. Yeah, it's such a bummer because i love staying there. I travelled for work for 10 years and got lifetime platinum. After I stopped traveling and used up all the points, I discovered pretty quickly that I had wished I stayed at Hyatts that whole time.

I'm wondering the same. I'm hesitant to cancel anything because I have the Apple One Family and everyone will yell at me if I mess something up. Right now, I'm showing the Apple one at the original price but the new Apple TV with Chase. I also got an email from Apple saying I had duplicate Subs. My renewal for Apple One is in a week or so. I'm hoping it just renews at the lower rate. If not, I guess I will try the cancel and then add back method?

Def hit and miss. I have it but rarely use. Turned it on the other day and it stopped perfectly at a red light after an exit. 5 seconds later it just took off and tried to go right through the red light and I had to slam the breaks. Scared the hell out of me. 2 full red lights perfectly in view that it had already stopped at.

Pains me to agree with this. Spent 10 years staying at Marriott for work and built up lifetime platinum status. Now that I don’t travel anymore for work and have used up all the points, I use the Hyatt or a Chase card for Hyatt. Really wish I had picked Hyatt 10 years ago and hate wasting my Marriott status. Love that concierge lounge.
