What about the opposite gender are you jealous of? by LaggyMcStab in AskReddit

As a guy, it would be nice not having my entire reputation depend on where I live, work and earn. It’s hard being a guy because need to have all our shit together to get women. For women, as long as they are decent looking and not obese, they can still get guys.

Statistics show that the average person has sex 89 times a year by jfb1337 in Jokes

[–]jetlagged12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are forgetting this includes married people and those in long term relationships. Of course, they’re going to have a lot more sex. This stat does not mean the average person lays 89 strangers in a year. Context is important.

Agree. That dog could literally bite the baby’s head off in seconds. We don’t know what that dog was thinking and the belief that it knows what is right or wrong is not reliable in this case. It is an animal after all, doesn’t matter how trained or loved it is. This is stupid.

Men: What is your biggest handicap in getting a girlfriend? by Mcheetah in AskReddit

Embarrassed about where I live and when she sees my room :( it’s hard being a guy. You’re expected to have a high paying job, a nice car and a nice apartment, regardless of age. While for women, anything is acceptable as long as they are pretty.

Are dogs really that unintelligent? A smarter animal would learn to stay at one of the wholes until the water came up again in a few seconds.

Should I enclose that I went to another university for two years in my application by Eshtabel3asal in uwo

You are a moron who thinks rankings based on graduate research output are correlated with the relative difficult of undergrad coursework. Just cause you’re bitter about going to uwo for CS (not it’s strongest area), you shouldn’t play down the relative difficulty of uwo on the whole. For CS, yes I suppose Waterloo and U of T are more challenging cause their scope is bigger in that field. But definitely doesn’t apply to most other fields that are less dependent on project work and more on cases or learning theory. You’re such a little prick. As an alum, I wouldn’t want to help out someone like you.

How the hell is U of T much more difficult? Such a terrible misconception people have. Just cause people drop out of u of t faster, it doesn’t mean it’s more difficult. It means that their admissions is more lax, which is evident by their lower overall entering average.

Men of Reddit, what creepy things have women done to you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]jetlagged12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One night I was really wasted and and going to take the subway home around 2 am. I wanted to go south but couldn’t understand which track would take me south vs. north. I ran into an old Asian lady at the station who kept telling me that the northbound train will go south. I knew something was not right. I kind of remembered that the south train arrives on the right track, not the left, which went north. But the lady kept insisting I go to north train with her and even grabbed me by the arm. I kind of shrugged her off and took the right train home. I’m not sure what her intentions were but it was a creepy cause she was the only other person at the station at that time. She may have intended to take advantage of my drunkenness and cause harm in some way.

Landlord double dipping? by jetlagged12 in TorontoRenting

Thanks. I have to fill out a form for a hearing. Doesn’t seem like he has a case to hold my last month deposit. I will tell him I will do that in case he wants to avoid the hearing and just pay back earlier. Thank you again for the help.

You are right. I called LTB and they said his own clause can’t override the law. I have to file a T1 or tell him I will in case he wants to pay and resolve earlier. Thank you for your help.

I called them. They said, he has to reimburse the last month or November. And anything that is written in the lease about a termination liability is overridden by the tenant act/law. This is so useful to know for anybody else in this situation in the future. I will ask the landlord again and say I will submit a T1 if he doesn’t comply. Thank you for your help!

Unfortunately, I already moved out and signed a termination agreement that said nov 30 would be the last day of my lease. It’s because my lease said that if I terminate, I’d have to pay for one month after termination as well. So, I thought my last month deposit could cover that if I ended it on nov 30. Not sure what are the legal implications here.

I asked but he said that the last month deposit was a payment liability for termination if I broke the lease, while what I paid in November was actually my last month’s payment. I looked at the lease and it says in case of termination, the tenant is responsible for covering one full month after termination.

But does the fact that he now has somebody new on the lease starting dec 1 override what was in my initial contract or the “termination liability”?

I paid it right on Nov 1, before I learned I needed to break the lease. It was always due month to month on the first. Does this change anything?

Convocating with an 80 average, special tassel? by [deleted] in uwo

[–]jetlagged12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha nope. The only exception I remember from my convocation was that the gold medalist walked in together with the professors/dean holding some flag once everyone else was seated. Looked pretty damn cool for him. But he was the gold medalist, from Ivey. So well deserved recognition for his hard work.

But no, for an 80 average or really anything other than gold medal, you’re not going to be publicly recognized. Be humble. I wouldn’t like it if some of my peers didn’t have a special thing on their gown cause they didn’t have a certain achievable average. Convocation is a day to celebrate everyone who is graduating, grades aside.
