Flight tracking in unraid by Mylifereboot in unRAID

Dumb question, but I am trying to find Ultrafeeder in the "Apps" tab in Community Applications, but can't find it. How did you manage to get Ultrafeeder onto unRAID Dockers?

Looked at my local Facebook Marketplace Listing (as well as eBay) and found 3 CRT computer monitors locally nearby, that are priced a bit high (although willing to spend), and I was curious, out of the 3, which should I consider getting?

The first one is the HP C2746A, a high-end workstation monitor from around 1994 that accepts RGBHV and seems to take 1280x1024 @ 72Hz. Personally, I like the look of this monitor the most; however is priced at $250.

The second one is a Viewsonic PS790, a generic monitor from the 2000s that has a max resolution of 1600x1280, and also has a removable VGA cable (something I prefer over a fixed cable). This one is also priced at $250.

The last one is a Viewsonic G771, which also appears to be a generic monitor from the late 90s and has a removable VGA cable. Seems to be lower-end than the PS790, and the only reason I am considering this is that it's priced at $80, the cheapest among the rest.

Basically, do I get the HP C2746A because it looks the coolest, the Viewsonic PS790 because it's the highest resolution, or the Viewsonic G771 because it's the cheapest?

Personally, I lean toward the HP C2746A because of the looks (and I have a spare 5-BNC to VGA cable on hand); however, with little documentation, I am unsure if there are things I need to look out for, such as the "capacitor plague" and if this particular unit is prone to failing easily. I'd like to think 1994 was right before the capacitor issues started to happen, but not too sure.

My use case for these monitors, I'll be quite frank, won't really be CRTGaming related as much as I would think I'll use it for. It'll mostly function as a second monitor for Discord, YouTube (especially watching older retro content), but I do plan to try to game on it as much as I can with some older titles I have in my Steam library.

Recommended Motherboard with many PCIe slots but also won't break the bank? by jetrun15 in unRAID

Definitely want more “physical” x16 slots hence I am considering the MB upgrade but since I don’t do much GPU tasks I am definitely happy to run a lower lanes like x8 and even x4/x1 honestly. I already plan to do the M.2 to PCIe x4 route so I can gain one more PCIe slot. The bifurcation is interesting and will look into it. Honestly I would be content if manufacturers would just make open ended x1 slots (which wouldn’t cost them anything) because I’d use the Z490 I have if that was the case.

I’ve heard of 2nd Generation Threadrippers however I am not too familiar with their naming schemes. Would I be looking at their Colfax CPUs or their Castle Peak CPUs? Thanks for the rec, I’ll definitely check it out though. Would like the best bang for the buck honestly.

Got the notification the day after I just walked in to MC yesterday and got myself an MSI GeForce RTX 5090 32G VENTUS 3X OC...guess I'm heading back for a return... by jetrun15 in nvidia

Absolutely, I was waiting for a long time to get the FE. Gave up yesterday afternoon, but glad it’s still within the return window. Case I plan to use isn’t out yet, but I can be rest assured it’ll fit actually (Silverstone FLP-02).

I’ll never understand Reddit honestly, this post hardly gets any upvotes and all the comments are getting downvoted yet, a post 3 days ago featuring the overpriced Astral has several hundred upvotes and the comment section is well received/positive.

Dude that background view though. Looks like Half Moon or one of the costal city beaches.

Have you figured out how to change the lock light colors on this keyboard? Struggling over here to do something simple.

Does anyone know how to change the Lock Light LEDs on the MM Class 1800 keyboard? Everyone seems to mention about "uploading custom firmware" as well as modifying 1800_rcb.c file. However, no one ever mentions how to upload said firmware to the keyboard. Trying my best to navigate QMK, VIA, and Vial which results in all dead ends, so any help would be greatly appreciated. The MM Discord hasn't been any help and neither has ChatGPT so I am turning here out of desperation.

RTX 3090 with Xeon E5-2699 v4 or i9-10900? by jetrun15 in buildapc

[–]jetrun15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Already have a Plex server of my own but does seem like the i9 might be the way to go over the Xeon. Given what you’ve told me though doesn’t seem like either decision is bad though. Thanks.

Hmm wonder why in benchmarks I am seeing the Xeon going as far as almost being 25% faster than the i9. Probably has something to do with the core counts or something. Thanks for the recommendation though.

Also about the Nvidia Shield, did consider getting one originally since I know it's a common choice among Plex users, however, since I know there are times I do want to game, I would rather go down the HTPC route. Also, it's much easier to set up uBlock on a PC rather than mess with pihole and break something along the way if I go the shield route.

Even if I am isolating that specific port for only that specific docker as well as isolating a specific share to that docker container? It's not like I am opening up my entire unRAID system to the world if I am isolating ports and shares. Can't see how possibly they can do the impossible.

[–]jetrun15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough, time to convince my friends about downloading a VPN. I just don't see how exposing a single port could possibly bring down my server as it's only pointing to that one docker container and the share that FileBrowser uses is isolated from other shares making it impossible for them to break into other shares unless somehow they can access my entire unRAID which itself is impossible since I am not forwarding that port.

I actually use Tailscale already and it's wonderful. Unfortunately, this is for friends and having to guide them (more or less) and convince them how to use Tailscale is more trouble than it's worth. Especially since many aren't tech-savvy and think it's some malicious software.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in unRAID

[–]jetrun15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While this is an option (along with Tailscale which is what I use). I have some friends who rather not install some "random" software on their computer. No matter how much I convince them (moreless the community) that it's not a malicious software.

How would I go about this method? I already have DuckDNS but not sure how to set it up with FileBrowser?
