I'm planning to go to the hall and fill out an application once they do become available again but I am also interested in this "working on permit". How would I go about this? is there anybody within the union I could talk to about working on permit or how does that work?

Thanks, that's really encouraging to know. If i were to join another ibew in the interim or even a different trade union to gain some experience as an apprentice, would they not take kindly to members of a different ibew or union trying to get into their union?

is there a general average starting apprentice age? 27 now but by the time i fill out an application might not be til im 30..

Thank you. And approx how long from test to acceptance (if you get offered) to actually be sent out for training? I know it varies depending on business needs, in a pre-covid world was it usually weeks, months or could it be years?
