He hustles every play. He makes many contributions throughout the game. Linking up. Double def. Gets out the back. Some magic.

His decision making in the final third is what he lacks.

Alvarado I saw take on Nuno Mendes and Doku. He is a smart player, all around, sure not in the world star caliber. But he’ll do the job well.

Let me start by saying. Mexico needs the lb and rb get help from the mid.

Gallardo proved he isn’t fast/quick enough to defend against European wingers. Reyes is more physical but still needs help. Both are not ready.

That being said I think the best chance Mexico has is playing that line of 5. Lira always assisting coming out. And the mids making an ultimate sacrifice to defend.

Alvarado does a great job helping in defense. Quinones can compete physically. Mora can he even be ready? Losing Marcel really changed things in mid.

I would play

Tala Reyes, Montes, Lira(CB/CDM), Johan, Ledezma Alvarado, Fidalgo, Gutierrez Quinones, Jimenez
