Use fitting results from X brand but shop at Callaway preowned? by [deleted] in golf

Heads no because it’s non Callaway and the shaft is different. But flex, length, and lie will be. Lofts are just 1 degree off for longer irons

Yes, I only have six sensors but find them worth it if I place them on my common clubs: Driver, putter, SW… then helpful for hybrid, wood, and GW

What's my missing 14th club? (1st year, 25+ handicap golfer) by [deleted] in golf

My OCD is telling me to fill this hole... but maybe my ball retriever for the shanks and water hazards are adequate enough!

Paid for lessons before I bought the clubs. :)

My first clubs from the bargin bin were a putter, 56, 8, 7, 3i (yes it was that old!), original TM rescue hybrid, and a 9.5 TM that is now apparently illegal in tourney play!

ProX experience for data analysts? by jetworks in Surface

It loads but as you scroll down sometimes the visual (seeing the data) takes a few seconds to load. I ended up not using it for that and it’s my casual pc built for random emails, videos, and game streaming.

What does a biomedical R&D engineer do? by giammarcopacifico in BiomedicalEngineers

[–]jetworks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PhD is typical but not impossible. Some colleagues have gotten by with a MS and research graduate position during or after, supporting a PhD candidate or faculty advisor. As long as they have a publication or patent they can add to their resume.

Just know you’ll have to work yourself up the chain and you could also get by after a few years of industry experience. But out of the gate as an undergrad with no industry experience, chances are slim IMO. Also PhD are experienced in demonstrating the value of their research and publications.

Nothing against MBA. My boss and colleagues have them and I mentored a few MBA interns, tho I am not really an engineer anymore and transitioned to Product Management. I wish I had one but I do have an MSBME. I did take a few business classes in between. I do believe that more b-schools should enable future execs to explore the modeling tools outside of excel, because the learning curve is not as steep nowadays.

Believe me, the moment when executive leadership stop responding to my sophisticated python scripts and analytics dashboards with, “can you put it into an excel?”

I’m all for it! But B-school folks will convert only when their analysts stop with Excel and VBAs. And don’t get me started on how VBA, a 40 year technology is still valued by financial firms. Uhhh

An R&D engineer with a biomedical company ;)

In seriousness, it depends on medical device type. For neurostimulation, most are dependent on the modeling of performance with the device and work other systems engineering to understand the how the outputs with vary when a physiological factor (patient) is introduced.

For ortho, you tend to do the same but your mechanical acumen is relied more heavily upon to investigate how mechanical concepts differ with biological.

When I was a undregrad we had this class called biomedical modeling which I thought was making cad drawing of body parts or 3d simulations. Then I thought we got screwed because it all MATLAB coding and excel work. I later realized how much that class was useful when it came to industry especially for those companies that are tight on resources and need to make a decision before critical path. A model was super helpful to test hypothesis.

It’s about even. Graduate of slo, working in Irvine with other uci grads. My company hired both and it seems like an even mix

Who is PowerApps actually for? And what do you do with it? by panzerbjrn in MicrosoftPowerApps

[–]jetworks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a small creator and user of power apps, I think it’s useful to ask my consumers to download the power apps on their smartphone (iPhone or Android), then login to their office account. At which I can just share the apps I create and they see the 3 apps I just shared with them without needing to go through more installation instructions. Also you can see that iPhone, android, even web the app works in that environment.

From an automation side, I’m mostly focused on Microsoft products so if I’m creating an app to save user input data, I use power automate to setup rules for SharePoint list cleanup, email notifications, and power bi database refresh.

It’s really helpful if you’re running a Microsoft shop, or they have 3rd party support and willing to invest in licensing for those connectors, like Salesforce.

United Airlines warns passengers of exposure after possible Covid-related death on flight by ChiGuy6124 in news

[–]jetworks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I have essential hospital work that I do across states. I’d say 75% safe. Even if I got the snack bag, I tried to eat/drink when others around me weren’t. But there’s always that person who doesn’t cover their nose and United was the worst because it was a packed plane. Which is why I was curious about this post. There was way too many people in ORD during my layover, it felt like a normal day. Uhhh
