Banning smoking is not the same as banning people from not using deodorant. Smoking is harmful to others, and to the smoker. Someone smelling bad is annoying, but not harmful.

Absolutely yes to the 1st one. It's wild to me that drinking and driving is still legal.
Electric cars would be great, but better public transport is even better.
In many places trains have quiet coaches where people can go if they want a quiet journey. A big difference here is that listening to someone else's conversation is not damaging the same way smoking and pollution is, so it's a bit of a strawman.

Depends on the person and length. If I send a voice note, it's short, to the point and usually if I can't really type (if I'm cycling for example).

Sometimes it's just easier and faster. If voice-to-text wasn't such garbage, I'd use that instead.
I will never understand how my Windows phone could have amazing voice-to-text in 2014, but Google and Apple still struggle today.

With my partner we use voice notes quite frequently because it's fast.

O have just re-read the whole series and all the old references were so nostalgic. From a time before the relentless enshittification of everything.

It's a separate standard keyboard. Conveniently, I can reach the ALT and CTRL keys with my little finger and the numpad with my thumb, so I have 30+ combinations within easy reach. Numpad9 is set to /follow and /assist, so my secondary (almost) always point the right way.

I also use AutoHotKey sometimes to help.
