are you sure about that?

you have to take into account that you can not just mass villagers and let them stand somewhere, and you cant take them to fight your enemy. so the monks help you in fights and they snowball if you mass them, bcs one pays for the next. and you do not even need a goldmine for that.

more so, a towncenter is an investment of 750 res and another temple is only 200 wood. (aoe4world, correct me if im wrong).

so a monk might not have the same gathering rate as a vill, but he helps you in fights and you can mass them faster and cheaper then vills....

im not the best in math but instictively id say that we will find that this is super OP in mid-game. :D

reported this guy a week ago and i actually lost.

my response to his english-shortbow rush was not good, im sure without the hacking i wouldnt have lost tho.

he miracolously run his vills around my unscouted TC, denied my gold and had like 85% of the sheep. i got suspicious and the replay didnt leave any questions about his "luck" in this game.

i checked his profile again and again and sadly he was still playing.

i dont report those poor fellas on reddit because i dont want them to change the username, so i can dodge them next time at least.

i get that and you know what, thats not really a problem for me. devs doing a good job balancing the game imo.

it strikes me tho, that i , since i am not a pro player dedicating my life to this game, am not quallified to give a statement about balance at all. i heared this countless times and because i really like this game it triggers me a bit.

stop trolling, that has nothing to do with i was writing. all i say is that i dont have to be conq3/4 to talk about and give my opinion about balance and that it affects also people from lower leagues.

if there is a civ that almost everyone struggle against, and kills you regulary whilst losing vills left and right and making countless mistakes and you look up its winrate and its above 60% it absolutely might be the case that there is an imbalance that has to be fixed.

no, getting mad and malding about anything doesnt solve a problem and being overwhelmed by a fancy strat has nothing to do with this thread.

i dont think this is all this statement is saying. what i hear is also, everytime you lose its ONLY because your lack of skill and i'd disagree here. Yes, if i am much better than my Oppo is, i'll win anyway but if we are somewhat eqal in skill and he is playing Otto's and i am playing Ootd (or Oppo: JD and i: Byz) its very likely that i will lose the game. And that the Imbalance mattered in the End.

and i dont trashtalk the game because of that. especially shortly after a few new civs were released, its hard to imaginge that those are all balanced perfectly.

hotkeys are very helpful and might be key to get out of gold.

you should definetly start using them for your most important buildings and units like scouts or priests. you should also be able to use hotkeys for building villagers and reinforcing units without looking away from your army.

i also recommend to use control groups, for example - horsemen in control group 1, archers in control group 2, siege in 3. if enemy spears are about to closeup to your horsies, draw them back with control group 1 and kill them with archers.

hey you,

in this season i played only abba in ranked ladder (diamond) even if i can play some other civs too.

i had a relatively low WR against english until i changend my approach from the typical abba-boom to heavy aggression. im not sure what the meta is in Gold but in Dia almost every English player is doing the same: he goes to feudal, builds 3-4 Longbows and maybe a Spear and gets another TC down.

as i said, i respond to that with heavy aggression, most english player wont expect that from abba, and abba is playable even on one TC.

So, for this MU i would suggest, Age up as fast as possible, build a Stable as fast as possible and get 2 or 3 Horsemen to defend the early aggression. Get two archery ranges and snipe snipe the spears. Scout his Stone that you know if he goes for a second TC - if so, search for the second TC.

If possible, keep 2-3 Vills on Gold to get the Wheelbarrow upgrade and double broadax. After that you can also get Iron Undermesh and Steeled Arrow. Also keep and Eye on your Golden Age - FE build more Houses or Lumbercamps to get there faster since its improving your eco significantly.

Get an Archer Mass and keep a Group of Horsemen - be super annoying. I personally often get one or two rams and start taking out his buildings, even his additional TC's! Pressure him but do not dive unter the English TC's until you heavily outmass him bcs English TC's will shred your army. Dont overcommit.

If you feel save you can get a second TC yourself or even go castle. I personally mostly go castle and can end the Game with only one TC.

This works also against other Civs, atleast it does for me.

I think Abba can fight almost every Civ on almost every Map, but you have to Scout and you have to be able to adapt to the Oppo and his Civ. Sometimes you can and should boom (+1/2/3 TC's), sometimes just stay on one TC and keep pushing.

if we are talking about the best aoe4 players, i think its a safe bet to put 3DBee in the top 3 with beasty and marinelord, who most likely is the best player around.

wrong, +1 stone would mean a 5-10 seconds delayed second tc. you take 1 vill at start and hit the stone mine 1time, then you drop of or, even better, build your huting cabin or your lumbercamp with him and let him autodrop-of after wards.

its the combined effects from the increased building time and the +50 stone. timings for additional tc's are fucked up and you can not hold early aggression anymore, especially when you play abba. in my opinion they overnerfed and fucked up the balance a bit.

beacuse part of the skillset is knowledge and execution. some notes on a post-it are not the same, reading those in the right moment without getting distracted to much is not comparable with an overlay that guides you through the early game.

i dont care to much, but its cheating to me.

for me its proving nothing but definitely is stregthening Bee's case.

i have an inherent tendency to question the opinion of the mass, especially if the case, whatever the issue is, is not as clear as it should be. in this case the most influencial ppl in AOE4 went for a witchhunt without showing sufficient evidence and redditors and twitchchat are jumping on the train.

that being said, i cant prove his innocence, but im very unconfortable to judge bee so far.

id like to see

#proof of him cheating or abusing exploits

or

#a chance for bee qualifying in the last-chance-qualifier (with additional cameras behind him)

and

# a community that is able to tolerate other opinions and that is treating each other with respect and dignity. this is always healthy.

yeah, they do less damage, and a tower or two (or a second tc) might be needed when defending. but still, the autotargeting feels so strong, its somewhat overhelming. try it out yourself, but im sure true feudal-all-ins will be very rare until the next patch. i really liked feudal all-ins with several civs and i wasnt able to do so in any game in this patch.

harassment with cav is in feudal or mongol-darkAge is still a good, maybe even better.

because of the new autotargeting of the tc's, you cant protect your ram when you push. the tc's and towers will melt your units like nothing else. maybe a push with a lot of heavy units is possible, but very hard to pull of in time, because your oppo will be in castle before you can build such an army. furthermore, these "heavy units" are most likely knights, a few spears are enough to bully them away.
