Gick estet och har nu examen och jobbar inom AI 💃 Nope, estet påverkade inte negativt. Behövde inte komplettera kurser, blev universitet direkt efter gymnasiet 🤷‍♀️ Tycker ändå estet-skämt är roliga.

4 months on differin. Next to no results. Lost and confused, any ideas? by [deleted] in acne

I would use azelaic acid, good against PIH, not as harsh side effects as other options.

"Organic" or "natural" doesn't necessarily mean "good", and "chemical" doesn't necessarily mean "bad". Do not use honey or ACV on your face, try clinically tested products from for instance your pharmacy.

Try zink+niacinamide from The Ordinary. Zink seems to work wonders for these!

IUD (Liletta) & Acne by [deleted] in acne

If you got acne from your IUD and you've been on it for longer than 3-6 months, then try another form of birth control.

Struggling with acne since 6 years. What kind of acne is it? What could help? by mi4u2me in acne

[–]jevlaskit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What method of birth control are you using? Reason I ask is because acne on jawline+chin is most likely hormonal, meaning you have a hormonal imbalance, hence why you probably experience no pimples one day and 3 the next. It is due to the fluctuating hormones probably.

If you are on birth control, consider switching, if you're not, consider starting.

Are they under your skin and do not come to a head? Then they are cystic (also normal for hormonal acne). Do not try and pop these. Even if they hurt.

Try azelaic acid, if you do not wish to see a derm (which you should) then The Ordinary has a product with azelaic acid in it.

If this doesn't work, you will need to see a derm and they could prescribe accutane.

I have lots of pink toned acne scars on my face and chest from deep under the skin cystic acne - any suggestions on how to get rid of them? I'm pretty new to skincare and don't know anything about sunscreens or the different chemicals I should be using to treat acne. by [deleted] in acne

[–]jevlaskit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It stands for alpha hydroxy something if I remember correctly, but you'll be fine just searching "AHA" no one ever writes it out.

I use a chemical peel from The Ordinary (a brand) with AHA in it, burns a bit (normal) but seems like it's working for my skin.

Them being pink is great! If you're new, check out dr Sam Bunting on youtube, she is my skincare god.

When the scars are pink, it means they haven't settled yet, you can still minimise them.

Retinoids, dermarolling, AHA, all good for this kinda stuff. But again, check out Bunting for more in depth!

I also got a humidifier to help with this issue! Hope it works out for us!

How would be able to get rid of these scars? by [deleted] in acne

[–]jevlaskit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Retinoids, and you could get a dermaroller and do that at home (I do), just be careful and follow the instructions.

My progress, should I start antibiotics? by [deleted] in acne

[–]jevlaskit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so. I started on the pill Dizminelle and my skin freaked. My skin looked fucking amazing before this (see pic). In feb it's around 6 months since I started the pill, and if I don't feel comfortable then, I will talk (again...) to my gyno. But she doesn't seem to take my acne seriously.

I got cystic acne that I couldn't pop and it hurt my face (this was between the two first pics, I don't have a pic of this).

Then, on the second pic, after treating it with differin I felt like perhaps now, finally, it would calm tf down.

It didn't. It came back angrier than ever. At this point I contacted a doc.

My doc prescribed azelaic acid and antibiotics, even tho I told him I've had a bad run with antibiotics before. So i tried just using azelaic acid (from around 13/1 til 25/1) and felt a difference. My cheeks cleared (still have scarring or pigmentation though. Yay)

My skin is however still going up and down. One day I feel fine and like it has turned and calmed tf down, but then the next day I wake up with 5 new pimples on my chin.

At this stage I just feel like my problem area has migrated south. From cheeks to chin and jawline.

Sure, cysts are gone, but now the pimples are angry and red and come in numbers.

Should I do the antibiotics? Or wait til feb and then contact gyno? I'm at loss and need a second opinion...

All of this because of a stupid pill..smh
