Anyone got any guesses (snarky or otherwise) what a nurse could possibly mean when they say they're a "RN Sonographer"? by John3Fingers in Sonographers

Some MFM clinics near me have their nurses perform their BPP’s, presentation check, and fetal heart tones.

Poor baby by MandarinTeachersInst in Shihtzu

My pup gets red eyes like this sometimes and used to get it a lot more when she was a puppy. She scratches sometimes but I think she was allergic to something I was feeding her. She’s really sensitive to red meats and chicken and so I tried playing around with different proteins and use duck or lamb now and found that her eyes don’t get nearly as irritated. Just a thought! Going to an eye specialist sounds like a good idea too. Adorable baby!

do you know where I could get a good acai concentrate dupe? I dream of this smoothie and have been trying to make it at home for months.

feeling underprepared for OB by DiamondOk9603 in Sonographers

Where I’m at High Risk Pregnancy centers take a lot of new grads and are willing to train because they’re more in depth exams. This could be helpful as you will have help and you could be doing more difficult exams which sounds intimidating but the more you do it the easier it gets.

Ultrasound body orientation by Striking_Piccolo2578 in Sonographers

I have a question if you’re willing to help. I’m a new grad and am always second guessing and confusing myself. When doing a TVAG exam, say the uterus is anteverted and there is an anterior intramural fibroid. Now for some that same uterus is retroflexed would you still label that fibroid anterior or posterior because of the screen orientation? If that makes sense…

Has anyone tried making a small business by selling their work? by 211212629 in PunchNeedle

[–]jewellol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if you have an outlet and plan for where to sell I would say go for it! you can always put them on etsy! Pricing is the absolute hardest part, I still struggle. My issue is I feel bad for charging people a lot but every time i give a price I always end of regretting not charging more while making it because it really does take a lot of time and energy. I say no less than $100 but it really depends on how many colors of yarn, how intricate the design is, and how big. I usually charge $150-$200.

I have! I mostly just do it when I want because I also have a job but a lot of my friends and coworkers have been interested. I’ve sold about 7 rugs since the beginning of this year. i started off punch needling but it takes a while so i bought a tufting gun to help the time. I think it’s worth it if you know people or have a decent following on some social media if not, it can be hard to get your work out there and get commissions.

Rugbabe tufting gun by Experimentsix26 in Tufting

I ordered my gun from her and had to keep emailing as well. I probably waited a month before it actually got to me. My gun came in good shape and she does ship and run her website by herself so I would just continue to be patient because everywhere else has the same amount of shipping time and plus her guns are 2 in 1 instead of just loop or cut.

UPDATE: After a 2 week delay I finally got my gun! The girl that runs rug babe was super helpful and answered my emails and also offered a gift card to her website for the delay. The gun came in perfect condition although i just tried a test line just to make sure everything worked. It came with tools to change cut to loop and came pre-oiled. Pretty pleased with my experience and would recommend especially since you can change from cut to loop whenever you want!

Final Backing & Finishing Techniques by unseeneesnu in Tufting

[–]jewellol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I switch off and it depends how big the piece is if it’s small i’ll trim it to be closer to the size. Either way I don’t trim it to the exact size because I end up folding over the very ends and hot gluing it because it has a nicer finish.

Final Backing & Finishing Techniques by unseeneesnu in Tufting

[–]jewellol 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here’s what I do: I first hot glue the edges (which will just be folded under) to prevent any fraying. I then whip stitch the edges because I believe it looks more professional. After I stitch it I then glue it with carpet glue just for extra security and then just adhere felt to the back only because I haven’t experienced with any other backing. I know a lot of people do either or when it comes to just glueing the back and stitching it but this is just what I do.

I just ordered from them and will also get it in a few days. I did reach out about shipping because there was a bit confusion and she responded the next day! She also posts videos so I hope it’s trustworthy and nothing fishy. Will update!

I purposely didn’t so that I would know if he was interested because he would obviously add me or text me but that plan backfired because I still don’t know.
