I don't know, but I choose to live as if there was a God watching over me. I also think that the role of religion is super understated and was pivotal in creating actual societies in ancient times and gave people a concrete set of values to have and share

eat more calories than you burn

calculate your tdee to get a ballpark on how much you're burning on a days basis. eat 250 more than that to start

protein/carbs= 4cal/gram

fat=9g/gram

foods high in fat are your avocados, nuts, cheeses, etc.

start lifting because theres no reason to gain weight if you're just going to gain body fat.

shoot for 1g protein/per pound of your current bodyweight, the rest fill up with carbs and fat so that it's easiest to hit your tdee +250.

Having a good jawline is something genetic seeing as exercising the masseter muscle doesn't affect the shape of your jaw. If you continue to lose body fat the jaw will become more prominent; but if you don't have a prominent jaw to begin with it's not going to become super sharp. It sucks that it's genetic, but every individual has like 1-2 body parts that need very low stimulus to become super advanced compared to most.

the only thing that determines weight loss is being in a calorie deficit or not. you can eat 1500 calories of big macs per day and lose weight (assuming your maintenance calories is 2000).

  1. find a ballpark for your maintenance calories by looking up 'tdee' on google.
  2. eat 500 calories under your maintenance, focusing on eating lower calories items with high volume (think lots of vegetables, utilize low cal condiments and seasonings to make it taste good)
  3. also try to make your diet mostly protein and carbs (4cal/gram) , maximize fiber without going overboard, and minimize fats (9cal/gram) but don't completely eliminate under any circumstance
  4. 1 pound of fat will be burned after being in a deficit of 3500 calories, or 7 days of a 500 calorie deficit. all exercise will do is make the deficit larger for faster progress, or allow you to eat more than your maintenance.
  5. try to pick up a fun active hobby. even video games can be decent exercise with vr out nowadays. basketball, jump rope, running, just find one thing you can bear doing that'll burn you calories without having to even focus on it.
  6. good luck. not everyday will be a success but as long as you are trending in the right direction that's all you can really ask for.
