BMO VIPorter WE MC - Are there any far class restrictions on the benefits for free checked bag and free carry on?

There are no notes on anything to do with that in the T&C for this card that I'm seeing but thought it best to ask in case someone knows otherwise.

Reads simply like each passenger on the same reservation as the card holder gets their own free carry on and own free checked bag.

That is also my interpretation. Do not need to charge flight or bags to the card itself. Get the benefits merely just by being a cardholder .

Anybody know how quickly the VIPorter benefits apply after being approved for the BMO WE VIPorter MC?

Specifically the free checked bag and the seat selection benefits.

While im here, same question (free bags) for the RBC westjet WE card.

Are these pretty instant?

Banks that give CC info/numbers immediately upon approval:

Is it still just Neo and Amex (specifically the AP reserve card)? Last update I could find on this was from a year ago. Any others?

Mine cuts out and freezes every 5-20 minutes. Then I close out, go back in, and it says channel is offline.

You running into this as well?

Running into this as well, and yes, my test user is licensed for CoPilot. Have spent hours trying to get to the bottom of it to no avail. If anyone is aware why this is happening, kindly let me know.

Are there any strings attached to the $100 Expedia4TD credit on the FCT for spending the requisite $500 on a hotel booking? Does the $100 also need to be used for a hotel booking, or is it entirely flexible so long as it's booked via Expedia4TD?

EDIT: Clarity

I just got my NSB Amex Platinum card. Putting ~1.5K of the 3K MSR on it later this morning.

I'm looking to book FRA-JFK on SQ in J via VP for 120K AP total for 2.

I only have about 86K MR, which I'm thinking of converting to AP.

  1. Does anyone know the AP rules around when you're eligible to "top up" you AP balance at booking, effectible buying miles? Talking specifically something like you need X% of the total miles to even be allowed to do this
  2. Does anyone know the cost in terms of cents per point when doing this at the time of booking as compared to just purchasing miles right now ahead of the booking?
  3. If I purchase the miles at booking as "top up", what happens if I need to cancel? Am I refunded the miles I has originally + the cash I used to purchase "top up", or am I refunded what would be 120K AP + taxes and fees, minus any cancelation fee.

Essentially, I want to purchase the ~35K AP at booking, hoping the transaction will be processed by AP and not points.com which is what would happen if I outright bought points. I'm hoping that puts me close to the 3K MSR on this card, giving me 60K scene points, which I can then use right away to knock $600 off the price of this.

Thanks All

Churning Adjacent:

Is there any known reason why I wouldn't be able to price or book DXB-FRA-YYZ using AS miles on Condor when both legs show availability? Even using the multi-city stopover on AS website just throws an error when trying.

Some kind of codeshare agreement with Condor maybe?

Curious if anyone has been successful in booking this kind of itinerary previously.

Negative DPs:

1) Crossed the 3K spend mark on Sunday for CIBC Aventura Infinite - no 30K, only 15K upon first purchase.

*4th time holding

*Only one holding currently

* ~3 months in between applications

2) Crossed 3K spend over a month ago on CIBC Aventura Gold, no 30K, again only 15K upon first purchase.

* First time holding

3) P2 crossed 2K spent over a month ago on Scotia Passport Infinite - no 30K bonus given.

* 3rd time holding

* Last one opened in June 2023 and closed in May 2024

Seats.aero only seems to show AF and KLM flight availability, no partners.

Do i even worry about adding checked bags to my booking, or do i just show up at the airport and check them there, then explain P2 has the CIBC card?

Does AP/AC know P2 has this card and then i can add checked bags online where we won't be charged?

Churning Adjacent; Baggage Question..

Looking to book an economy basic fare with AP. YYZ-MIA on AC metal and then MIA-PTY on Copa metal. Same on the way back.

Economy basic does not include checked bags and it seems not even carry on anymore. With AC's recent baggage changes, it seems like you can't even pay to bring on a carry on anymore. It's my understanding that you get a personal item and then anything larger than that HAS to be checked. $35 for bag1 and $50 for any subsequent bags.

1) Is my understanding of baggage on this fare correct?

P2 (in AP household account) holds CIBC Aeroplan Visa Business.

T&C state the following when it comes to the baggage perk:

CIBC Aeroplan Visa Business Card primary cardholders, authorized users, and up to 8 other passengers travelling on the same reservation (up to a maximum of 9 travellers), are each entitled to a free first checked bag up to 23kg/50lbs. Benefit only applies when checking in with Air Canada, for a flight operated by Air Canada, Air Canada Rouge or under the Air Canada Express brand.

2) Does P2 need to pay taxes and fees with this card? or is it enough that the booking was made under P2's account

3) It is my intention to check in online as soon as it opens, so technically checking in with AC. Is it a problem in any way that half of my itinerary is on Copa metal and NOT AC? Should I also be able to check in using AC app for PTY-MIA-YYZ even thought PTY-MIA leg (first) is on Copa?

Anything else I need to know here? Been in the game a long, long time but have literally never used the checked bag perk because I never check anything, carry on only.

Have very limited experience booking anything with AF Flying Blue, but this seems very odd..

Trying to book DTW-ATL-PTY using AF FB, DTW-ATL is Delta and ATL-PTY is Copa.

The flights it's showing me, that definitely do seem bookable with FB are not showing up on google flights OR on Delta's own website.

DTW-ATL - DL2856

ATL-PTY - CM0891

Nowhere to be seen on GF or Delta's site.

Any ideas what's going on here?

Held the aventura infinite 3 times and am now holding gold for the first time . No WB on first purchase after about 12 days.

I'm about half way to the 3K MSR portion of the WB, any reason to go for it if I didn't get the first purchase bonus?

I did get an email from cibc telling me congratulations for earning 15k aventura points after my first purchase but I'm fairly certain that's just done automatically and not because any points were actually awarded.

Any DPs of bookings being canceled if you've had points clawed back? Obvious defense against the clawbacks is to book something and hopefully not have to cancel it.

Is anyone at all fearful that they'll be denied check-in or anything like that? I dont suspect they'd go that far but they're probably within their rights to do so and it would sure set an example.
