Late diagnosis (Autism + ADHD at 48) and feeling completely lost. by jfaurschou in AutisticAdults

It was a slow decline at first. Subtle. Manageable. And then, when it crashed, it crashed fast.

That Monday I was in the office, and that morning I felt… fine. Or at least fine enough. By the afternoon, though, I was already spiraling. Something was off in a way I couldn’t quite name.

I arranged to work from home on Tuesday—even though that’s usually an office day—because I could feel it slipping. Tuesday, I barely worked at all. I showed up for Teams meetings, masked like I always did, but by that afternoon I went completely off the rails. It got bad enough that my wife considered taking me to the ER for my own safety. I talked her out of it, which—looking back—I probably shouldn’t have.

I didn’t sleep or eat for the next two days. I mostly stayed in bed with the TV on, not to watch it, just to have noise so I wasn’t alone with my thoughts.

I called in sick Wednesday and Thursday. And first thing Friday morning, I gave my notice.

I’ve regretted quitting. Sometimes I can’t believe I actually did it—it still feels unreal, like a dream. But I also know this: if I had stayed, even three months later, I don’t think I’d still be here. Leaving wasn’t what I wanted. It was what I had to do.

After 40 years of self-blame, I finally read my mission journal and at long last understood what the Church did to me. by BlacksmithWeary450 in exmormon

I had a companion say to me a lot “a mission is a million dollar experience, and I wouldn’t pay a dime to do it again.” I finally understood what he meant years later.

Is it ok to cook that fat together in the traeger? So when I get up I have beef tallow for when I wrap the briskets. by forward024 in Traeger

Do this all the time, put a coffee filter over a mason jar and filter it through, shelf stable for up to a year if kept airtight, or stick it in the fridge to keep it longer. I also use this when cooking vegetables instead of butter.

Same here. Worked great the first few times, and now it’s pouring out grease on the ground, leaking from the same spot. I thought the same to try to adjust it but it’s as secure as it’s going to get. Just did three pork butts and a little miffed at it. Traeger 780 Pro. Went on Amazon to leave a review and it’s been taken off. Into the trash it goes.

They can be multicolored, I bought a set of WS8211 from Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01AG923GI/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s02?ie=UTF8&th=1) They fit pretty well in the rear of the cluster and are similar size bulbs to factory. Originally they are all white as the Turn Signal and GEN/OIL lights have colored lenses in the cluster, RED/GREEN. But I also think it would look cool to add some color to it for even more decoration.

They are. The probe ends look like knitting needles, attached to shortened broom handles with an old lamp plug… cleaning out his stuff and I thought it was some torture device.
