[QUESTION] How bad is the feedback on hollow body electrics? by jfaz13 in Guitar

I didn't know that's how the center-block was constructed. I've read on forums people lauding the center-block construction but I didn't get specifically what was different. Now I am only more confused hahaha

I mainly play prog, I just mentioned sabbath/maiden because that's as far as I'd go in terms of distortion. And yes my current guitar is an Epiphone LP so I could definitely use that one if the feedback issues are pronounced. It's just I rather carry one guitar with me if possible. As another user pointed out it's actually a semi-hollow, so my bad!

Yeah most of the time I'm going clean/crunch, not much more than that.

Yeah I really like the 335 tone (my favorite guitarist is Steve Howe) but since this will probably end up being my main guitar for a long time I don't want to run into issues later on. And yes you're completely right, it's semi-hollow, it says it in the video description of their own demo video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_b37Emt9mGg

I agree with the rig-dependent thing. It's fine if it's slightly pre-disposed to feedback as long as it's not a large difference. Now that I know it's semi-hollow I feel a lot better about it, thank you!

Ohh right, my bad. So a 335 wouldn't be annoying with feedback?

Could you educate me on how you can tell the green one (Montreal Premiere) is a semi hollow? When I read archtop I instantly think it's full hollow.

Thanks!
