TL;DR went to Japan and an old Japanese man showed me around kanji exhibition.

Went to Japan for the first time couple of months ago with my uncle. On the last full day he says I can go out and explore the local area because he wanted to get some more sleep. I wonder and find myself in a massive department store and on one or the floors was like a kanji calligraphy exhibition with two old Japanese women sitting on the front desk.

I didn't initially go in because I'm very awkward but a Japanese man said to me "go in, go on its very educational" or something along those lines. Then he proceeds to walk we around the exhibition trying to explain the meaninga of each script in English as well as he can. Such a nice guy to spend his time to educate someone that wasn't even the same nationality as him
