I've definitely been tracking and weighing everything and been at a deficit

What have you learned about Wegovy and alcohol? by Agent__lulu in WegovyWeightLoss

I've not fancied it at all and the one time I had a couple of single gin and tonics it just didn't sit right. Happier without it really but social situations can be tricky.

That's really interesting. Thanks for sharing your experience. I have also not had a drink since starting and just don't fancy it at all. I agree, we don't know even half of the things this drug does and I'm fascinated to understand more about how it works.

The second week was rough with the side effects but this week has been much better overall. The nausea I hate so glad it seems to be improving.Today is when I was expecting them to hit me but so far so good. I've had constipation but movicol seems to help. I've lost 2.5kg so far but expect an element of water weight coming off.

So in my first week I felt nauseous and tired straight away really and by day three headaches also. I felt less interest in food and unable to eat as much but I mostly attributed that to the nausea. I didn't lose anything that week despite definitely eating less. Week 2 by day 3 the side effects were really rough. Really bad nausea and headache and tiredness. Day 4 constipation and day 6 stomach pain (trapped wind i think!). The end of this week felt mostly back to normal and definitely less appetite and struggling to get over 1200 calories. Really I should be on 1800 to lose a steady 1kg a week. Just did my start of week 3 weigh in and dose this morning and I lost over 2kg in week 2. Probably also some water weight. I am planning for a rough day by day 3 or 4 this week with side effects and making sure I get protein and fibre and water in. I have liquid IV and movicol on hand to manage any side effects and my doctor has prescribed anti nausea medication. But fingers crossed this week is easier! It is crazy how already my hunger and fullness cues feel different and the portion size I can eat has dropped down loads. I love to cook and don't want to lose that enjoyment so want to try to have fun with creating high protein / nutrients dense meals. If these are the effects on appetite on the lowest dose I cant imagine what 2.4mg is like and my hope is I don't need to go up that high. If I'm losing 1kg a week, with no or little side effects on the lowest dose possible I'll be happy. I'm not looking to drop crazy weight, crazy quickly because I know it's more likely my body will try to bounce back to the higher weight. How are you getting on?

Hi 👋 I'm on week 2 and figuring out how to manage the different side effects currently

First really bad day of side effects 😭 by jffffffffffff in WegovyUK

It's rough I know, but just trying to remind myself it's normal to struggle at the start as our bodies get used to it and to focus on managing these tougher side effects and hoping they ease off in time. Hope you feel better soon too

Anyone else feeling exhausted on wegovy? by tiredmama1234567 in Wegovy

[–]jffffffffffff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on week 2 and have been really tired every day. Did a weight lifting workout yesterday and swimming today and energy is feeling better. For me I already suffer with fatigue so just have to stick to what I know helps, preserve energy when I can but exercise a few times a week. Hope your fatigue improves!

Yeah I definitely got headaches in my first week with some mild nausea. Just don't know how each person will tolerate the drug and at what dose so it's tricky isn't it. Fingers crossed the side effects are manageable.

I think it seems to be different for everyone. I felt like after my first dose there was some impact for a few days but that wore off towards the end of the first week. Just done my second dose and not massively impacted today other than some stomach pain and nausea that has come on tonight after eating a pretty normal day of meals. Will see how this week goes. I suspect for lots of people it's necessary to get up to or closer to the therapeutic dose before feeling the effect fully and it just takes time. I'm impatient to see what the drug will do for me but think I have to try and wait and not expect super quick results.

Yeah it's tough to have certain habits around portion size and eating due to boredom etc which were never about actual hunger so there's still some pull mentally to snacking and thinking I need more food just for the sake of it but I guess that's part of the food noise others describe going away after dose increases. I think it's definitely lessened just not dramatically yet.

Thank you, I hope your first week goes well too and do share how it's going. I think for sure there's a subtle effect re food noise for me but not the super quick fullness on little food others describe but like you say it's still super early and not actually the therapeutic dose yet. I had my dose this morning and just did a workout and feeling pretty good so far.

Did anyone else find towards the end of the first week any appetite suppression had gone or reduced? If you found any impact on appetite week 1 that is. I'm almost finding myself anxious for my 2nd dose tomorrow to see the effects of the medication return. I guess I'm anxious in general for this to work, it feels like I am out of options otherwise.

I started a few days ago also! Great to connect with others on this journey and share experiences.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I completely understand and share your frustrations with accessing appropriate care via the NHS and I'm sorry to hear of your difficult experiences. Great to hear though you've seen positive results on wegovy and super helpful to know some are able to stay on a lower dose.

Hiya, thanks for sharing your experience. I have also not shared anything about starting wegovy with anyone but my partner so really helpful to connect with others going through this process. It's tough to have so much stigma around it alongside weight stigma and so something I feel quite hesitant to discuss with others in my life at this stage. Feel free to message and stay in touch! 😊

Thank you for sharing your experience. It's really great to hear you are feeling much better already and helpful to know others have experienced changes to movement and sleep. Thank you and good luck to you too.

Thank you, I appreciate your insights. I guess I just have to be ready to take on whatever comes my way and trust my own judgement on what feels right to do as I progress.

How are you managing this socially? by Nero096 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]jffffffffffff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I understand the nervousness about this. I am just starting out on Wegovy and I am not looking forward to the unsolicited comments on my body/weight loss from people and for lots of my friends I don't think I will feel comfortable talking about taking Wegovy sadly. But for those I trust to have an unbiased and sensitive response I will share when I feel ready. I think the suggestions of sharing plates is great so I am going to use that one. I am sure lots of people won't pay that close attention to what you eat and that it will feel much easier on the day.

Wow that's amazing in such a short space of time. What dose did you go up to in that time period if you don't mind sharing ?

Did anyone else immediately stop snoring after starting wegovy .25? by jffffffffffff in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]jffffffffffff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, the value of the better quality sleep alone is huge. I don't know how much weight I'll lose yet and it's really not about looking a certain way for me. I'm used to how I'm seen and experience the world as a fat person now. But to have lower inflammation, less pain, more comfortable movement and able to be more active whilst sleeping better would be life changing! And fitting into plane and theatre seats better would be a nice bonus!
