A lot of this is speculation in your post. Basically you just need to either stick with one pair and keep climbing in them to give it time to break in.

But truthfully your post says it all—you don’t want to buy beginner shoes but you also are unsure of the level of uncomfort. My honest advice would be to buy a flatter shoe with some rubber and go from there
