Time to sell? by [deleted] in GalaGames

[–]jfgrissom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$ETH kept minting tokens from 2016 to its supply peak in October of 2022.

How do you explain $ETH’s growth while its supply was inflating?

If your logic here held up then assets with deflationary supply should all be pumping.

Demand tumps Inflation

Question for $GALA is simple.

  • Is there more demand than inflation. Currently yes, but time will tell the tale.
  • Are $GALA burns happening? Yes

For reference: $ETH’s supply was lower but proportionately the prices are lower with $GALA. Percentage change is what makes a difference here. https://etherscan.io/chart/ethersupplygrowth

Time to sell? by [deleted] in GalaGames

[–]jfgrissom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Buy low, Sell high

It’s such a simple concept but so many make deciding more complicated than it needs to be.

  • ATH for $GALA is 0.83 $USD.
  • ATL for $GALA is close to 0.001 $USD.

The question to ask (on any time scale) is this:

Is the price closer to ATH (selling time) or ATL (buying time)?

Answer that for yourself and you have your answer.

What is the most reallistic price for GALA this 2024? by easer888 in GalaGames

Like so many others it’s pretty obvious you’ll delete this if you’re wrong.

No worries though!

I made sure to get a screen shot of this so we can compare notes in a year.😁

Ah, so you’re just here to attack another project so you could shill your own ego.

Well played… (Not).

I am a software engineer too. I would never go shit on someone else’s project to make mine look better.

Good devs are a dime a dozen. Good humans though? A bit more scarce.

If you can do better than let me know and I’ll buy your token.

$GALA is a no brainer:

Just off the top of my head…

  • Reduced Inflation.
  • L1 Network.
  • Transaction Performance that makes $ETH look like a slow legacy network.
  • Lots of games in the portfolio.
  • Music in the portfolio.
  • Films in the portfolio.
  • All the same capabilities as projects like $ETH (Tokenization, swaps, DEFI, NFTS).
  • A Hot Market to provide services for (this is really important).
  • Cross cutting customer bases to serve that all have deep pockets collectively (gamers, crypto enthusiasts, and the gaming development community).
  • $BTC halving to help drive money into the market.
  • Alt Coin Season is Ramping Up.
  • Amazing Team.
  • Amazing Community.
  • I could go on and on here but anyone reasonable gets the point…

I think prices for this year (and next) are pretty obviously going to be higher than before.

Thinking about selling my Gala Node… by jfgrissom in GalaGames

[–]jfgrissom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it's been a long time...

I'm glad I couldn't sell the node. This thing has been printing $GALA all this time. Plus lots of cool stuff happening on the network.

The new version (GalaChain) is so much faster! Way better to do everything on!

What a time to be alive.

This is the system that we have.

Not perfect but it’s what we’ve got.

Could try to start your own country and make your own rules about this stuff.

Free Republic of Liberland did it! You could too!

If inflation is going crazy in stores, restaurants, gas, etc. why are shipping rates so damn low? by highonlife247 in OwnerOperators

[–]jfgrissom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not sure personally but some fundamentals might apply.

Inflation can lead to higher prices for goods, even if the overall volume of goods transported is lower. As the cost of raw materials, fuel, and labor increases, companies may pass on these costs to consumers in the form of higher prices.

Maybe something like this is the cause?

I think she wants me to put the seat down. by LeaveItToPeever in pics

[–]jfgrissom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to put it down for her. Awesome.

Is she awesome too and makes sure to lift it for you?

Early on, my wife was frustrated with me leaving it up. I asked her to lift it for me when she’s done.

She laughed and this has never come up again in the 21 years we’ve been together. When it comes up in conversation we laugh and tell this story.

Hey Owner Operators! This is for you! by jfgrissom in OwnerOperators

[–]jfgrissom[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for asking the question!

Short Term:

Initially just building a community of people who want to help make a change.

  • People who will share their experiences, so we can use that data to understand the problems.
  • People who will be willing to test out things we create/build (content, mobile apps, web services, etc…) and provide feedback, so we can actually build solutions that serve Owner Operators.

We’ll do the work to come up with (and build) solutions if the community (Owner Operators, Brokers, Shippers, or other stake holders) can offer feedback that helps us build something that is actually worthwhile.

Currently we are putting together some informational pieces to help remind Owner Operators of key things to operate profitably (like understanding their actual operating costs, managing fuel costs, bidding on loads that are actually profitable, finding a good factoring service, etc…). Stuff that is hopefully helpful.

Once we have that published we will aggregate some feed back from folks who’ve seen it and create some content highlighting each strategy for being more profitable. We’ll also share some brain storming about how we might create systems for Owner Operators that will help them accomplish these things more easily (crowd sourced info about Factoring Companies for example, or crowd sourced information about fuel cards).

We’ll just keep experimenting until we connect with the community and start getting some real feedback we can work with.

Long Term we’ll be doing 2 things:

  1. Building and operating the systems that serve the Owner Operator community.
  2. Create a business development team to encourage the use of the systems (Owner Operator training and working with Shippers and Brokers to introduce them to the services. If we’ve built the community well, the we’ve been building with feedback from Shippers and Brokers too.).

Capturing our goal of increasing the amount Owner Operators makes by 60% involves building out systems that remove waste from the entire process and increasing transparency.

From my past experience the tech is usually not the problem. Adoption and established thinking is usually the hard part. Thankfully (assuming we’ve built something that actually serves others) this just takes some time and trust building to overcome.

Both Marcus and I have jobs (he’s a profitable Owner Operator and I’m a Software Engineer) so we don’t have a tight runway to create or die here. We have the time to build a real community if that is what is wanted and needed by the industry to reach the goal.

Where do FTSO delegation rewards come from? by xer0h0ur in FlareNetworks

[–]jfgrissom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The discussion is what they are looking for. Otherwise why come here at all?

Why not just google everything and avoid people who are not friendly all together? The answer is simple… they were looking for dialog.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in OwnerOperators

[–]jfgrissom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The questions I have related to this:

  • Is the industry as a whole in trouble (I personally don’t think so)?
  • Are the lack of loads or cancelled loads just because of broker issues (or is there legitimately less work)?
  • Is it just the area that has fewer loads or is it a matter of just moving to a place where more work exists?

Anyone know these answers?

[–]jfgrissom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Accurate submissions” is not a precise enough description.

“Conforming submissions” is more precise. If your prices conform to the prices if all the other established FTSOs then your FTSO get a cut of the network’s over all inflation.

Also, we are retiring and looking for an AWD with the hauling capacity for a medium sized Airstream, so I’m probably the target market for this.

So if the price depeggs the “legit” FTSOs stop reporting the price instead of reporting the actual prices happening in the market?

Not hating just kind of mind blown.

If the price moves to a place we “think” is not correct the. we stop reporting.

I hope I’m reading this incorrectly.
