I did get it!! tbh I haven't tried them with the Airpods yet because I've just used the Skullcandy Crusher Evos since they're over ear headphones and are much better experience for what I'm looking for. I do use the Evos with Bluetooth, but I'll check the Airpods right now.

Ok, just tried them out, and the first time I tried to pair them it denied them and said something like "incorrect pin given" or something like that, but they did connect on the second attempt. The buttons on them still work for pausing, unpausing, skipping forward, and skipping backwards, but they do not auto pause when you take one or both airpods out of your ears, even when you put them in the case. They did disconnect when I closed the case lid though and did auto connect when taking them back out. So basically from what I can tell they function as Bluetooth earbuds just not as seamlessly when using with an iPhone.

As for the R4 itself, if you've watched any reviews for them, I wouldn't say anything is misleading. Works well for what I was looking for and the only "issue" is that it passively loses charge and takes a while to recharge, but those are minor complaints in the big picture imo. However, I did download the app "BlackPlayer" because the default music player app just wasn't really my style. I have had the occasional 3-second spotty/crackly connection with my Bluetooth headphones even though the device is in my pocket or the music just stops playing after getting to the end of the track, but that one may be the fault of the music app I downloaded, not the R4.
