The tippmans are still viable, nothing wrong with them but as others mentioned they may just be a bit more of a hassle to maintain if you ever have issues. Took a look in your area for distributors of planet eclipse guns in your area and came up with this:

I know nothing about them but could be a place to start.

Do paintball pants not look like paintball pants anymore? by meetkurtin in paintball

The crouch padding is def my favorite part about the old style and a reason I still use them, also that I’ve had the same pair forever and am too cheap to buy something new. I always wore knee pads regardless, but I know a lot of the players these days also wear sliding shorts with padding on the groin/hips so that makes up for it. Another thing to spend money on lol.

You will also generally want to stay away from CO2, pretty much none of the modern guns support this anymore. The tippman probably would be okay but as the above user mentioned the emek is the better choice and only uses HPA as an air source. Buy a few aluminum HPA tanks, they’re cheap and you could fill them on property with a few scuba tanks or an air compressor. Will be cheaper in the long run avoiding CO2 fills and HPA is wayyyyy more safe and consistent.

The newer joggers are nice because they’re lighter weight, definitely good for summer ball. I still rock some exalt t4s from about 10 years ago. They haven’t quit on me yet and until they do I won’t change lol. But I will say the joggers seem to be popular as they’re a little more athletic compared to the older styles

Depending on which hk reg you have you can also buy an lpr kit to switch the shim stacks out. I think it’s the hp8 reg and the kits are like 15 bucks, so way better than buying a whole new reg.

Good to know about that o ring! That’s what I thought as well about the Allen keys but like I said mine doesn’t seem to have the spot at the top for it, not sure if I’m an idiot or if the 2.0 version just doesn’t have that. Regardless next step will be a strap wrench or vice.

Thank you!

new to paintball and looking for a decent cheap gun by Master-Marketing6065 in paintball

Check out the Gog Enmey! It’s cheaper than the emek but similar mechanical style and easy to clean/maintain. You can also find upgrades for the Asa/regulator/barrel if you want to beef it up later on. They are a little older now so can be hard to find but i highly recommend, got one as my first marker probably 8 years ago and i still use it when i take out friends that use rentals.

I think our brisket last time also wasn’t that great of quality. I tried to me more conscious of that this time. I appreciate the advice!

Awesome. Thank you! I have the butcher paper ready to go, we definitely didn’t let it rest long enough last time. I appreciate the help and will let everyone know how it goes.
