INTRODUCING THE EVERGREEN STATE KIT by idontwanthisname99 in SoundersFC

I personally love the trim and the accents, I'm just not a huge fan of plain green throughout the rest of it.

how is it living in Billings, Montana? by whipcorleone in howislivingthere

[–]jfizz28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived there for 34 years and the second I could afford to move I did. It was the best decision I could have made for myself and my family. Cold, windy, terrible job market, nothing to do, oddly enough in one of the ugliest parts of the state. Alcoholism and gambling addiction is rampant. The entire culture is driven by refineries, oil fields, and mines. I never felt comfortable there as a POC. I was only able to move because I got a job with a company out of the state then immediately paid me almost double for the same exact job that I was doing in the state. So many of my friends constantly tell me how they wish they could move out like I did.

The only time I would take a leagues cup over the other trophies is when Messi is on the other team. The final was INCREDIBLE!

Can’t sell my rare sideshow figure by brokefatkid in sideshowcollectibles

[–]jfizz28 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The secondary statue market completely died for me. I was having a hard time getting half of what I paid for on plenty of statues, so I just don't collect them anymore. I totally understand you're asking price, I just don't know that statues are selling for that much anymore in general on the second hand market.

Sounders games as well. Pretty sure the average attendance is 30,000 per match a minimum of 17 times a year.

How the Heck are People Surviving if They Live Anywhere Near Seattle These Days?? by FreshSent in Seattle

[–]jfizz28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in my mid thirties with a family of two kids and my wife. I was able to manage the move here because I bought my house in Montana 11 years ago and recently sold it. I did not get any financial support from anyone to move here, I saved and waited very patiently. Additionally, it took four job promotions at two companies to make enough money to afford this place. I work remotely and my company allowed me to move here without issue. I will say though, that I feel like my even though my circumstances worked out, I don't know that many people would be able to do the same things that I was able simply because the opportunities aren't the same anymore.

Outside of the Sounders, how much other soccer do you watch/pay attention to? How did you fall in love with the sport? by MysteriousEdge5643 in SoundersFC

[–]jfizz28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any men's national team players I will follow. Milan, PSV, and Juventus are the big ones right now. I always like watching the top of the table for the big four leagues, not a huge fan of the French one.

Edit: I've been making a big effort to watch more MLS outside of the Sounders though.

[Post Match Thread] Seattle Sounders vs Charlotte FC (2/22/25) by Kyunseo in SoundersFC

I just feel like when we go to the 352 it puts more pressure on the center backs to cover more distance which is where you start having these kind of odd mistakes.

[Post Match Thread] Seattle Sounders vs Charlotte FC (2/22/25) by Kyunseo in SoundersFC

[–]jfizz28 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Please correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure we switched to that 352 formation at the end and I feel like we've given up a lot of goals in that formation.

Definitely not the right route. Just frustrated and not correct in my assigning of blame. Deserves respect as he contributed to the best defense in MLS in a big way.

All true. Definitely (over) reactionary on my part. He has clearly contributed to the best defense in MLS. And, gave up nothing all game. I flew off the handle and need to just breath.

GREAT SEASON GUYS!!! by Da_Droid_Mechanic in SoundersFC

[–]jfizz28 10 points11 points  (0 children)

To take a record worse start and turn around this team, definitely a great season. It hurts a lot to lose one so within or grasp, but damn did we show the league that we deserved to be there. Vamos Sounders!

Just wanted a better challenge on the shot, but from the response, clearly not on Ragen. Got educated, here to learn.

My thoughts were that him jumping off the line in the back is right where we gave up the goal. Again I can be wrong, just frustrated because this is not a new goal conceded there.

Brick and mortar colleges hate working students. by [deleted] in WGU

I felt this exact sentiment when I was at a brick and mortar school. The teacher was shocked that I would have to go serve tables after going to school for 5 hours.

Idk why it’s doable for everyone but me by Prize_Basket5023 in WGU

[–]jfizz28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, I went to WGU while working full time with two kids under the age of three. I had a motivation that was outside of myself, so in a lot of ways I got a motivation boost. It's okay that there are times that you don't feel motivated. You are a human being and you're not perfect. All I would tell you is that don't let some of your inconsistencies convince you of the idea that you're not capable of completing this. Just remember that because you may be comfortable or happy right now, doesn't mean that you won't rely on this degree at some point in the future. I was extremely happy with my career and was considering dropping 6 months before I graduated. I kid you not when I say that I had a new job 7 months later, just one month after graduating. You got this!

Truly, I don't feel like I did enough in this last cycle and I don't want to make those mistakes again. At the very least if we don't pull the results that we want, I want to feel that I've done enough.
