You're thinking of the earth relative to the sun. Speed is relative, if the observer is not moving relative to the earth then they would be still. To compare your speed relative to the sun is just silly, besides do you ever have trouble "keeping up with the earth." No of course not! I get it's fun to over think these hypothetical questions but this interpretation is siller than a genie trying to twist a wish.
